what would be the best bottom metal for 223?

Is the HS Precision bottom metal more reliable then any aics pattern mags? Or could just stick to a bdl setup. I had some AI 223 mags that worked ok as long as you didn't store them loaded. Looking for something better though.

It's a 16" 300 BO if it matters.

Thanks, I have heard that there were better mags then the AI ones.

I was getting ready to purchase some, but sold my 223. My next project is a 300bo for a light/handy rifle. I was figuring something close to a manners EH6 for a stock.

Same for me CDI Bottom metal and Accurate Mags. My mags are dremeled out at the front to allow me to run 2.550" Coal. Runs flawlessly with factory Fiocchi 50 gr, and 77gr. and my 80 gr SMK handloads. My .223 a Tikka T3 SS Varmint, BTW...

I've tried CDI, it didn't work, and the crook reamed my ass with some restocking fee because his product doesn't work.
OEM Savage DBM (Accurate Mag) works badly with an accurate mag that I can't find, but not at all with MDT.
I tried MDT in the RPR, which also doesn't work.

The MDT mag has no chance of functioning in any gun. The follower flips forward inside the body and you have to fish the rounds out.

CZ527 works, but is AR length.
Mossverg MVP same story.

Sounds like you have other issues if nothing is working for you.
