1)Inletted my FN SPR stock for my CDI bottom metal....
2)Machined the action to clear the AICS mags...

No Devcon to bed it now. FedEx delayed due to bad weather.....

I finally put in an aftermarket Bolt Stop Pin replacement in my Ruger MK III pistol. The the bolt pin is threaded so all you have to do is get an allen wrench and unscrew it then you can pull the bolt out to clean the pistol out easier. I also installed a magazine eject aftermarket kit to really make your magazines just shoot out the bottom of the MK III for faster reloads. I got a IDPA Match at our local club tommorow (www.bigpineysportsmansclub.com) and with all the snow on the ground here in Missouri it pains me to loose my 45 ACP brass. So I will shoot my Ruger MK III for my semiauto and I got my revolvers ready to go for it. Just simple home gunsmithing stuff. Not as complicated as Cal50's project though!

Popped apart the Savage Today after bedding. Turned out good. Sprayed the base color for the camo paint on the stock as well. Repaired a old Topper 88 20 ga. that was missing ALL of the trigger group parts. Old buddy gave it to me after miss-placing the parts years ago.
Stripped the furniture down for a quick refinish after test firing.
Than went and picked up a 1953 Ford Jubilee tractor I bought and mounted new tires for it.
Had a busy day here. Wifey is out of town so no "honey dos" to contend with

All firearms related projects/activities on hold until Spring. I work on model aircraft in Winter.

Scaled up a Rapier rocket powered balsa/tissue F-84F design plan set by Mike Stuart (GB) to 110% and printed two copies. The Rapier motors are only occasionally available (from East Europe) and their power is both anemic and inconsistent. I plan to use Estes 1/2A model rocket motors, which are a bunch more powerful, so I'm both enlarging and beefing up the airframe in the hope that the wings will stay on. The second printout of the plan set is for my Grandson Patrick to build on alongside me.

I should have the plan sets trimmed, pieced together, mounted, and covered with no-stick plastic wrap on ceiling tile building panels by Noon.

With luck, the models will be built up and ready to fly when the grass greens back up.

I cut dovetails for Novac sights in a Caspian slide for my 38 Super carry gun. Polished sear engagement, and increased sear relief angle until trigger creep went away.

...and finished inletting the ebony forend tip and plugs on an English walnut stock, fitted to my custom 10/22.

Finished inletting the barrel channel on my re-barreled Mauser to float the barrel.
I'll bed things this weekend.

Duplicated the stock for my custom 10-22 action Friday. Inletting next week.

Thanks and that was from necessity. I try not to re-invent the wheel but when really crappy parts are put in or on guns it gives someone a bad day.

I whipped out my india stone and jewelers rouge and went after the spare 1/22 trigger pack I have. The trigger breaks clean without creep now.

Im about to go work on making my wallet hurt. I'm heading to the bike shop to go look at a KTM 690 Duke. Oh how I love street legal supermoto bikes.

Worked on an appellate brief - researched the issue of standing as it relates to declaratory actions.

I cleaned swarf out of the chip tray and checked the barrel I have chucked up in the lathe waiting on the reamer to get here from PTG. Took off the 308 barrel from my AR10 upper and rechecked the Headspace. It works just fine with the gauges but won't lock every time on the loaded rounds. I put my 6.5x47 barrel back on and got it ready to resight the scope. I am gonna just use it until I can buy another upper reciever to dedicate to the 308. I considered changing out the trigger (I have a Timney for it) but I needed to refill my feeders and time was wasting. So I put out 100# corn in the feeders and checked the game cam. Pigs were absent for almost two weeks and during that time the deer returned, a nice 8 point a spike and several does. The pigs showed back up day before yesterday. I wanted to get one for tomorrow but can't hunt today.

Waiting on the reamer and for GA Precision to inlet a stock so I can finish my jarhead nephews 300wm. He is a good kid and is making an excellent Marine.

Took a pile of pictures for my new proto-type product and sent them to my Patent Attorney for review, hopefully he says to post up the pictures and not wait another fricken year for another Patent.
Then went out and raked rock out of my grass that I pushed with my quad when we had snow.

I shoveled snow off the roof of my carport to make sure it doesn't crash down. Then I was in my garage working on my hotrod Nova project, installing a new steering column and linkage to the rack. Waiting for reloading supplies so I can start loading up some 308 ammo...

Worked on a Remington 700 .270 all day. Nice days work. Its just a Remington donor long action, rebarrelled with a Remington Varmint contoured custom barrel going into a Bell & Carlson A5 stock, glass bedded, oversized Tubb recoil lug and Jewell trigger. Its not finished yet but I threaded 2 factory rifles for moderators later on and back to the .270 tomorrow.

Put the battery back in the bike and took it for a spin. We're having a spring-like temps here in Lancaster, PA and I couldn't resist. Got a little too "frisky" and pulled a burn out under the back porch. Girlfriend not happy! Nor the neighbors I suspect.Back to the loading bench tomorrow.

Just finished stripping down my close range varmint getter Marlin 917V to the metal. Trapping season is over for me, so I have time to Duracoat it before the next Smack the Smiley competition. Going to do it French Army Black (left over paint) which will give a nice satin black finish. Going to take the stock off my 700 SPS varmint in a minute and sneak it to the car before the wife sees me. It's getting mailed to Bartlein for some new plumbing this week I hope. Going to finish recycling a few full beer cans and some Clammato juice in the process

I took my Remington 700 out of its old stock and got it ready for its new Bobby Hart LRT stock. Also took apart my M&P 15-22 and worked on putting new springs in and using some flitz to smoothe contact points.

I just KG Gunkoted a friends M1a, and another friends savage 110P. Found a B and C tac stock for a sav model 10 brand new for $130, and threaded and crowned a cheap sears brand single shot.22. That was after testifying at a motion to suppress. Funny thing about those motions by the defense.....they have little to do with guns, and everyone panics if you bring any class 3 fun stuff.

Bedded a 308 in an AICS stock yesterday. Popped it out, cleaned up. Glued/bedded a rail on same 308. Install bolt knob on same 308 in a little bit.

I chambered this up in 6.5X47La poo poo earlier this week.

Now a "supa bling" buttplate for her and she's outa here.

Fun stuff.

Running my simulation now then off to make some chips! Looks like a cross between a tongue depressor, a surf board, and a nutter butter!

Only thing that beats it is 20k rpm and 300ipm.

I got a line on a Kitamura Mycenter 1 that I'm going to try and pick up later this summer.

This was actually a late night project, but I had to make a few mods to my Hydraulic Barrel Vise. I added the four bolts through the top plate to limit downward travel when the pressure was released and I spring loaded the halves (1/2" OD compression springs between the halves) so they would pop apart. This made it much easier/faster to use.

Thanks Chad....I got tired of holding everything together and tightening down the bolts. I think you should churn a few of these out and if you're interested, I can provide the info, but looking at it, it's easy enough to figure out....

Yours is a bit more polished and is certainly beefy enough; nice to have just two bolts to tighten instead of four. Mine was sort of work in progress and I had a few ideas after the paint job....

I'm working on the final details for a TL-1. We're still barreling manually and I need to pick up the pace a bit. We're doing the stockwork on over 20 barreled actions now, but a lot more to get done.

But I'll add a VMC as soon as I can. When we fill in the stocks to re-inlet them, we're doing it manually. A VMC (as you know) would be the ticket....

still working on an idea for barrel lapping. Lead injection pot to get rid of having to handle lead, and possibly a retrofitted hone used for multiple spindle vertical lapping machine...someday
