That was at the scotts fertilizer plant some dick head left a main line switch open in dark territory. Both buddies survived that 3 foot piece in front was a 50 foot car the rest of the train derailed (intermodal) .

Not to far from the famous csx 8888 (google it) runaway train they made a movie about (unstoppable) which was wrong on a lot of details I have worked with both the engineer and conductor that was on the train caught up with the runaway train and stopped it. The engineer was a advisor to the movie and they still fucked it up in my opinion.

I never make enough . That is why in my later years, I move around a lot. I seldom stay at any company for more than 2 to 3 years. There is always another more interesting tech company that is willing to pay more.

It is a stressful job or can be. I find many are very receptive and open to suggestions. Some are not. I use the term "suggestion" carefully. To be good at what I do and what you are looking to do requires

1. Support from superiors. They hired you or me and there was a reason for it. When it comes down to the wire, they need to support you.
2. Your ability to suggest and drive versus dictate. If you come off as an overbearing know it all, you won't be successful. You need patience. You also need to drive accountability. Millennials are missing accountability. I have no issue giving you the responsibility provided that you understand the ramifications and consequences.
3. The ability to put your morals, values and principles aside. Never treat them poorly because of their beliefs. Business is business. Fact is that 85% of the ones I deal with are leftist in political and moral perspectives. I don't care and I never participate in these type of discussions. They do know I am an avid shooter and 2A supporter. That has never been a problem. Politics and the rest of it never is discussed.

I might get in over my head sometime and need to pick your brain. Lol

In addition to being a programer, for the past 20 years I worked weekends at some part time job. Part time spanned driving a truck (have my CDL), Sports Authority firearms section, Office Depot (nights & weekends), & the last 4 years on weekends at a food supermarket. The toughest part there was unloading a 50 foot trailer. Bananas, onions, carrots, & potatoes were the worst!

june 1st I said to the Mrs., I have had enough. I am 70+ and enough is enough. Stopped working multiple jobs 7 days a week.

My big decision now is do I go back to get a refresher TIG course & try to find a apprenticeship as a welder or stay fully retired & read Snipershide. I do not know anyone that starts over at 70+.

I just received my CAL today and I noticed the buttons to swivel the legs on mine are different than yours. The top of the buttons on mine are flared out at the top like an undercut flat head screw. Where as your are simply cilinders.

Also, writing (a couple books including an O'Reilly animal one if you are also a tech nerd of any sort, a regular column), and generally being an expert (on human factors, user experience design, mobile specifically, touch even more specifically).

Again, not so much now, but sometimes still, traveling to entirely other continents to speak on it.

More all the time, hauling this thing around (here, in Iceland, but mostly just in Kansas)

And yeah, he's bigger now, and aggrivatingly self-propelled.
