Strangely, for a matter of such import, Sako don't list this under their FAQ's....probably a good idea to send an email and get the truth from the horse's mouth: www.sakosuomi.fi

I'm going to be on a motorcycle trip in Norway and Finland (and Sweden, Denmark and Germany) in June and into early July. I would love to visit the Sako plant for a tour.
I have a physical address and may just write a letter... but if anyone has contact info I would appreciate a PM.
There is supposed to be a great museum there as well.

I don't have the adress to Sako but I have some must see places in Norway. Kongsberg arms factory museum is one.
There are several large costal batteries with guns in place in operational condition. 15" Krupp(Tirpitz-type), 16" Krupp for H-class battleships, trippel 28cm turrett from heavy cruiser Gneisnau and the only costal battery with a major kill: Oscarsborg Fortress in Oslo Fjord. Oscarsborg sank the German heavy cruiser Blucher in 1940. All original guns are in place + a museum collection wich includes a twin 15cm(?) from aircraftcarrier Geaf Zeppelin. Oscarsborg is a "must see".

Simply pulled 3 letters from the word TARGET.
I had inquired with him a couple years back what the difference was between a couple of the TRG models.
Color of stock?
Black-Lighter layup, lighter in weight, general construction.
Green-Heavier layup, heavier in weight, designed for the Finnish Army.
Paint finish on the stocks are of different composition not only color.
Through the years, some Green stocks were painted black and vice versa complete orders.
Barrels and Actions are exact with the exception of barrel lug/position post for front sight. And of course finish.
Many minor updates were performed through the years.

Thanks very much for that. I am planning on visiting one museum in Tromso, near where Tirpitz was sunk. And the Norsk Hydro Plant. But I didn't know about the Kongsburg. But it is close to Norsk Hydro, so I added it to my list. I am not sure I am getting over to Oslo. I arrive in Kristiansand via ferry from Denmark and am planning on heading West after Norsk Hydro, but definitely will look into Kongsburg! I am actually planning to meet up with a fellow 'Hide member in Kristiansand.
Trip will take me up the West Coast to Nordkapp, then down through Finland. I may try and make it over to Kirkenes. If I can get a Sako tour scheduled, I'll go all the way down through Finland, if not, I'll loop back West and follow the East coast of Sweden (along the Gulf of Bothia and the Baltic) into Stockholm to see the Wasa.
Thanks again for the advice and PM me with any sights or museums! I have about 3 weeks for the trip. I'll be camping on Nordkapp for the longest day of the year (not that the sun sets up there in June.)
