What does your rifle weigh?

How did you like it for hunting?

It’s big and bulky and definitely nowhere near as convenient or easy to lug through the hilly woods as a typical hunting rig. Getting into treehouses and stands is a bit more difficult, and slinging it during long hikes took some adjustment. It’s also difficult to hold and fire off-hand unless you’ve practiced quite a bit and are capable of slinging that weight around.

In the end, it was all worth it for me and it’ll be my primary hunting setup for the foreseeable future. It’s just so much more fun than standard rifles.

I feel you when wanting a lighter rifle, but that’s the trade off for me with the AX. Incredible rifle and is just worth it. If it had to be lighter for hunting I would find a lighter scope, victor company forend, and probably just have the 308 barrel fluted or possible do a proof of the budget allowed for it. But as long as lower MI stays straightwall only I’ll keep the purpose built 450 BM for hunting and keep the AI just like it is.

What type of mount is that to attach to tripod very cool. Thanks; CCC

For the Manfrotto in the pic of the 5.56(18) ... that's a McRee pic rail to 322rc-2 head interface. These days, there are a number of similar interfaces. MagPul makes one for instance.
For the Really Right Stuff tripod, you can direct attach a pic rail to the RRS Anvil 30 head. Or you can use a "Vyce" grip ... which is the RRS version of the HOG saddle.

BTW, if I want "light" ... and I strip the suppressor off the REM700 Sendero .308WIN on the Bravo it is 9 lbs 7 oz ...

I want a heavy enough barrel that I can shoot "a lot" without opening up my groups ... and the bravo has adjustable stock and detachable magazines ... if you want all that ... you are not gonna wind up with a 6 pd "mountain rifle" :D
