Hunting & Fishing What factory 223 ammo for predator hunting

Will be putting a thermal on 1/8 twist 223 ar. What is a good 223 hunting ammo for larger predators? Everything will be sub 200 yards.

Define Larger?. 50-53-55 grain vmax for coyotes and smaller. Or similar with 50/55 grain ballistic tips.(not as explosive as vmaxes)

55 grain soft points work well too.

Shoot them in the middle & any 50-60gr PSP or HP will do, no $$$ ammo needed.
Depending on if you're keeping fur or not. Hornady 52grHP is good

I have had great success with 55gr vmax and 55gr varmageddon. Usually dead right there or within 20 yards and pelt damage is minimal.

55 and 62 grain cheap stuff has worked great for me. Couple coyotes and raccoons that don't disagree. I'd just find something that's inexpensive and fairly accurate in your gun. Like others said. Doesn't need to be 77 smk or anything fancy. It will definitely work. Just not necessary.

Whatever your rifle shoots the best! That way your bullet goes where it needs to if you do your part. If you do your part they all work just fine.
