Just about to send a dummy round with friends reamer for a second barrel for my MAK tubegun rem 700 mag feed. Reamer is, I believe a .16 freebore. Firing pin has been bushed.
I use it for 300-600 f class and general target use. My current barrel, a shilen 7 contour 1-8 26" has 1250 down the pipe. It likes the 140 vld's the best at an oal of 2.815. Jammed 10 thou. I get very low es sd with 39 gr h4350 at 2780 fps.
My new barrel is a Krieger 1-8 contour 10 26".
I am thinking of an oal of 2.80 for my new barrel for 140 vld's. I am planning on mostly vld's and hybrids but would also like to have the ability to use 123s. I would like to maintain the ability to mag feed vld's throughout the barrels life. I have aics mags with max oal of 2.88. I don't worry about max velocity. ES and SD are primary to me.
Does this sound good? Just thought I would check with you all first.
