Rifle Scopes What Glass to Get?

I need your help spending my money

So my rifle thats on order is a 13.5" .308 LMT MWS
I plan on getting a 16" barrel down the road and maybe even a 6.5 Creedmore wayyy down the road
My issue is I can't really decide on a piece of glass

I have a range i can shoot to 750 yards on the regular and i would like to use this gun to hunt deer at a max range of 200 yards
So having a 25x is a bit to much on the deer hunting side of things


These are the scopes im looking at
NF ATACR 4-16
NF NXS 2.5-10x42
NF SHV F1 4-14
Razor G2 3-18
Steiner T5xi 3-15

I'm leaning heavily towards the ATACR just so i don't have to upgrade down the road

what do you guys think?

Get the 42mm one like cs is offering. the 50mm is too big.


It’s possible the nx8 will take up this mantle in time - but for me the atacr has much needed features.

I may as well throw out a suggestion to look at the ZCO 4-20. All reviews on this scope have been phenomenal. It's a perfect fit for your purpose on a gas gun.

If you got the cash the ZC 4-20 is as good as it gets.Mine is a dream to work with.If not the Razor Gen2 is an outstanding scope and very affordable.

The TT 315M is a outstanding scope,I am very happy with mine I just wish they would make the mag ring a little easier to turn.

I have the same issue with both of mine. I bought a throw lever for them. Really helps.

I loved my 4-16 Atacr F1 and it was a perfect scope for my 6.5 grendel gas gun. For the price you can get them for now, the G2 Razors are pure titties- just a little on the hefty side. Now, if I had the coin, I’d be looking really hard at the ZCO 4-20 or S&B 3-20 US?

Put a hard limit on how much you are willing to spend. Then, you can choose from a number of excellent options.

ZCO 4-20X50 is the current kind of the ultra short precision scopes or at least it is the best I have seen to date.

Personally, I run a TT315M 3-15x50 on a gas gun since it is a little lighter and I like 3x on the low end. I have had this short pretty since they started making one. It is from a very first batch they made and some day it will be interesting from my cold dead hands. It is a spectacular crossover scope.

ATACR 4-16X42 goes after the same basic niche and is a little cheaper. It is an excellent design and I spent a few months with it a couple of years ago.

Of course March 3-24x52 is probably lighter yet. I am planning to revisit it. There are some compromises there, but I remember this a very good scope. Then, there is the new NX8 that I have not seen yet.

What kind of a reticle do you like?
