Just wondering what you are all running for .308 grain in the LMT MWS? I got a ton of 150grain .308 federal power shok. Getting my 20" LMT very soon.

EDIT: Also, are you using more .308 or nato 7.62x51???

EDIT: If you are reloading, what brass, primer, powder, and bullet are you using? Also, what die brand / style are you using?

    Just wondering.

FGMM 168's.... It likes the 175's a wee but better, but I'm sitting on a good bit of 168, so I'm using it for the time being. Plus 175's are a bit more around here.

Pretty much this. I picked up some Black Hills and it shoots very well, may just keep that stashed, very pricey.

FGMM is my go to ammo, shoots < than an 1" @ 100yds. I payed $18 a box about 6 months ago.

My MWS loves 175 grain FGMM ammo, the 168 graing FGMM is not bad, but the 175 really tightens up the groups...soory to say this but it does not like the 150 grain Federal American Eagle (red box stuff)

    175 grain groups are outstanding.

I don't have a LMT but my SASS likes the 168's for everything under 600, 175's are best for longer that 600 as the 168's tend to get squirrely around 650-680(either velocity or wind have more effect) "Generally" speaking.

If you got it try it. Some military ball surp. shoots fair. Most of the shooters on here use these in precision or dmr type shooting roles. As everyone said earlier in the post the 175 are king and the 168s are close to it. If your happy shooting ~3" groups at 100 then shoot what you have. If it shoots better then its a bonus.

I would not run them because of the soft point. It may or may not have a problem riding the feed ramps but there is a lot of open lead area on the tips of those bullets.

Yeah if I am just "playing" ill get some 147-155grn Surp ammo and remove the centers from the targets at 100yds like we all have tried with the BB gun at the fair...

Once I get back into reloading, I am gonna find the load that works out to 800+ and stick with it. Undoubtedly it will be the 175grn SMK's or the 178grn A-MAX's.

I have never tried the 180 grain....I have settled on the fact that my MWS is a 175 FGGM gun....I would like to try some Blackhills soon, to see what it will do....

My MWS loves 168 FGMM. It hits the 14"x15" steel at 800 yards with nice tight vertical dispersion without missing the plate as long as I don't bolo the shot. The horizontal is completely dependent on my wind holds, usually on the plate but pretty much 9-15"

Re: What grain .308 you running in LMT MWS?

i found that retail american eagle for MIA (which is federal), 7.62x51, 168grn, OTM (open tip match) shot really well in my LMT MWS... can usually find online shipped $14 to $16 dollars per 20count online....

Pretty much everything I use is Redding. I use a type s full length die for my bolt guns and regular fl die for my gas gun and seat with the competition seater. Like my friends told me when I started reloading, get a good reloading handbook, keep track of everything you do, and don't be afraid to ask questions. If you use my load be sure to work up to it. Also, there's a section on SH for reloading.
