I bought (and have barely gotten to use) a colt competition pro 18 about 5 years back. What happened to this department or gentleman who was making these? What about the adjustable gas system?

Bold Ideas assembled the Colt Competition rifles but they went out of business several years ago. What's up with the adjustable gas block?
Nothing is wrong with it. I was trying to find where I could get another one? Any particular reason they went out of business?
I don't know what happened to them for certain but it was probably multi-faceted like a lot of things are so I won't speculate. I think the guy that owned Bold Ideas/Colt Competition started another business named Ox Manufacturing (Ox Mfg), and this looks like it could be the same gas block that was previously used on the Colt Competitions.

Bold Ideas/Colt Competition only licensed to use the Colt name on the rifles, I don't think there was really anything on the rifle that was actually from Colt.

I don't know, I think you'd be in a better position to determine that. I've only held the gun in a gun shop, I've never shot one.
Oh no I mean I’ve never had any issues with mine at all that’s why I was wondering if I got lucky or what happened
