What is causing these gouges on my brass?

How many pieces of brass have that mark? It appears from the picture the mark was made at an angle. Have you looked at your bolt face?

I have a 1911 that had a slight "burr" above the firing pin hole that left a gouge on the head of the brass, just a thought.

Did it only happen at 43.5gr and no other charge? Did you do anything different for those rounds when you loaded them? Different neck tension, different OAL, etc?
