What is Retro in Shooting

i came across this thread a while ago and bookmarked it for future reference that might come in handy for your article Frank?

Straight up "range estimation" What was used, how it was used. What shooters did to deal with uncertainties (point blank Zero?) Sight types for range estimating (irons?, mildot). Was there any old Training for range estimation? Up hill down hill tricks?

thats a easy one...just buy a .270, no matter what the distance 100 or 1000

hold the nose on a running deer

serious though:

what about shooting some of the original custom/tactical rifles

like a Robar if we can find one that hasnt been rebarreled, we can see how far rifles have come

Jeus. I remember being young dumb and full of cum. Reading an article about a custom Georgia Precision rifle and just missing the point by a mile. All I could think of was, "holy shit how much for a remington 700 with a textured stock?!"

I like Legacy Skills as a starting point and title

Then I can do Slings, back up irons, stuff like that

I would do barrel tuners I see them coming around but don't have enough experience with to create a complete topic
Legacy skills:

Using the "fast count" to determine holds for movers.

Bringing a Remington 700 .222 Rem with a Simmons 3-9x40 to the first Carlos Hathcock Match in NJ, which our Department of NJ Marine Corps League Shooting Program had organized.

It placed up at the top on that gorgeous October day.

There were about a dozen shooters there.

That'll never happen again, IMHO.

This year will be the 26th.
