I see that several Sig dealers are blowing out Tango6 4-24x50 models. Are they phasing that out or redesigning? Does anyone know if they have something new coming?

Sig changes their optics line like most people change underwear. If there is a redesign, it's probably minor. I think they're just overstocked on these and dropped MAP to try and spur some sales.

I have a 3-18x44 and I really wish I waited a little while before I got it, because even with the student discount at the pro shop, I over paid by at least $400 compared to the prices I am seeing today.

I don’t think they don’t yet have the credibility to command 2k+ on optics yet. I see a 4-24x50 ffp at 1500 as an absolute steal. But why spend 1500 when you can drop 4K on a scope because of popularity on a forum?

Thank you, thought it might be them. Looks like the low prices are only on the standard mil reticle and not the DEV-L. I have seen this often where scopes with the less popular reticles often get the specials in order to help eliminate stock.
dev l is low. Look again. I see 1539 or something of the 4-24

I'd go for DevL. Easily one of my favourite reticle designs out right now. I was looking at the 4-24x50 Tango6 and AMG 6-24x50 side-by-side and while I think AMG is a better scope, I definitely prefer DevL to EBR-7.

If you haven’t yet, handle one of these sig scopes. Pretty solid and the glass is as good as any NF or vortex I can say

Like this one in the middle?

That scope and mount are ideal for that setup. That's about what I would do, especially now that the 4-24 is as cheap as it is. Otherwise I would be shelling out for another Kahles

Have you tried out the 5-30? Down the road later this year, I may be getting one more scope and I can do something like another kahles, but may consider the sig instead

I have a couple of the first gen Tango6s... a 2-12 and a 3-18. At that price, I couldn't help myself... so I pulled the trigger on a 4-24 for a future build.

It'll sit in the safe for awhile (until the ol' checking account recovers), but it's just one more thing that I won't have to buy later on.

They just introduced the BDX tech. I'd be surprised if they are moving that quick into the tango series. The tech looks cool but I don't see much use for it outside of hunting

Hopefully they want a Halo product to make people drool and then order a Tango 3 BDX.

We will see. I think Sig has done a sick job in many places at the same time. Optics just haven't taken off yet, which is evident in the prices. Shit, I've talked to a few guys who won't even touch a Sig scope just because it hasn't gone mainstream

Their optics product lines are getting more refined with every iteration, so I expect them to do well long term.
They have good people and they have good name recognition.
It takes time for people to associate Sig name with optics, but it is coming.
Look at Vortex: they started from zero and are the largest manufacturer of sporting optics int he world for the last year or two. It is clearly doable for Sig to be up there as well.

As far as the website goes, the EO products were integrated into the general Sig website not too long ago, so straightening all that out is taking a little time. They are working on it.

Sig is making a big push, they have a lot of money behind it and probably a lot of money behind that if they need it.

Just looking at their BDX, they are trying to differentiate their product and the strategy of bringing it in on the low end is pretty smart to hook people in to their system.

I think Sig is going to be in the optics market at least until there is a shake up in their upper management. If they make money at it, it will be around a lot longer than that.

Sig drop MAP pricing on all but the 5-30 Tango6. If they were overstocked they might have done a MAP holiday. This is a strong indicator that these will be replaced in the short term. The fact that they have been in production for a year and a half unchanged is another indicator that change is coming. Nothing goes that long without changing in the Sig catalogue.

I was tempted by this but am a MOA scope person. The 4-24x50 DEV-L MOA is listed at $1799 from Optics Planet but they will come down $100+ if you chat and ask them for lower. Still wasn't tempting enough for me but letting others know.

I like the 5-30x56 model a lot, even more so than the 4-24 version for whatever reason.

Maybe since it’s bigger/heavier it feels more robust, but it also seems to have better optics too. FOV seems better and it doesn’t feel like you’re looking through a drinking straw. I can’t imagine there is any difference in glass so it’s probably more mental than anything, but each time I’ve been able to compare the high mag model to the smaller ranges, I always leaned towards the 5-30.

Interesting that it stayed unchanged while the 3-18 and 4-24 were reduced. As others have said, I trust Sig optics 100% to do what they’re intended for. If you’re on the fence I would definitely recommend them, especially for those prices.

This thread is about a LOW produced scope, with Sig Sauer's name on the side, and thats really all that matters.

How it compares for the money to the other LOW produced scopes out there, as that is its main competition in the 1400-2100 dollar space, is what is important here and the topic at hand.

Keep your off topic bullshit rant to yourself, IMO. Or if you really cant help yourself, because your opinion about something that is not relevant to the thread is really that important, at least make one post and then let it go.
