What is this????

I got this on a trade a while back.It is built off a Mauser action in 30-06.It has an all steel chassis and weighs 20 pounds with nothing on it.The mono pod in the rear is a project in the works.It has a 1.25 full bull thats 26.5".It is all machined and milled to fit exactly.I loaded some rounds for it and it shot really good.Just seeing if anyone has seen anything close to it and where it might have came from.It was bare metal when I got it so I gave it a rattle can job. There are no markings on the barrel.The only thing I could find is a serial number on the action.

thats a weird contraption to say the least. how does she shoot? even the ugliest duckling could be a swan at the range lol. the 1911 grip actually looks pretty cool though. would allow you to put on any after market grips you like if you so desired. if she shoots like ass then it'll at least be a good discussion piece mounted on the wall.

What is the pistol "portion" of this rifle doing?

It is in anyway participating in the fire-control, so is it just providing a pistolgrip?

The pistol part is just a grip,but still has part of the frame attached.If I get time this evening I will take it apart and take some pics. As far as value that's a tough one. I guess it's one of those things what's it worth to you. To use a 1911 frame and a mauser action, it must have been from the 60's????

I may be wrong but I think that Sinclair Int sold a chassis for the Remington 700 that used the same "frame" as a 1911. This may be a coppy or something there of. But I can remember them being sold and I am pretty sure it was through Sinclair. hope this helps.
