What kind of accuracy to expect out of predatOBR

I am planning on ordering a predatobr 260, and purchasing an additional 308 barrel (18"). I intend to use the 308 barrel to shoot prs gas gun matches in tactical heavy. What are people seeing for accuracy with factory match ammo?

As above, .75-1.25 moa. Only my occasional best groups are .75 with 175g FGMM. My buddy has a 762 tOBR also, and we've both had reliability issues. I sent my rifle back to LaRue and they wouldn't even tell me what they "fixed" on it. They just sent it back as said "yeah, we were able to reproduce your problem, but it should work now." I've had that same sort of initial short stroke symptoms since getting it back. They sent my buddy a whole new BCG, and that hasn't helped him much (similar short stroke type failures as I have). I know another guy that has about 500 rds thru his tOBR and he said it's never had a hiccup.

The first larue rifle that I bought two years ago was a solid rifle. I always contributed the 1 MOA groups to being me not doing my part. With the same handloads (175 Berger OTM) I was always able to produce well under 1 moa results out to 1000 yards. I have even shot the rifle out to 1520 yards multiple times. I've used the rifle anywhere from out of a truck window on prairie dogs to shooting off a bench, to hard field use. I've had problems with mine as well though, mine was over gassed terribly with a suppressor. Bought the tranquilo suppressor and it was kind of a fix all. I did USE it enough to trust the rifle. I have Lapua cases with over 10 firings on them from that particular OBR.

My .260 P'tOBR is the most consistently accurate big block gas gun I've ever owned. Prime Ammo is most definitely the way to go, too. 2755 fps!

It shoots even better with the Tranquilo suppressor mounted.

I am looking forward to having the 260 barrel, i am still up in the air with the length. I am leaning toward the 18 because i plan on using my supressor on it quite a bit, and thought i might get a little more accuracy with the shorter barrel. I am wondering if it would be overgassed with my omega supressor on the 18. With such a short distance between the gas port and the muzzle, the must have to open up the gas port more compared to the 22, so the supressor would increase dwell time quite a bit (percentage wise) over the 22"

What grip is that, Wes?

The Sierra Precision Rifle ("SPR") grip.

It's a really neat grip, about a 20 year old design, that never seemed to have caught on. Still in production.

It's what David Tubb used on his original Tubb 2000 bolt gun many years ago. Ideal hand filling design for shooters with larger paws. Speaking for myself, it's like having "power steering" compared to other grips.

I've only put 50 rounds thru my 18" PredatOBR in 308. 5 shot groups, after zeroing with 168 grain SMK's it ran ~ .7 moa. No problems at all. I replaced the RAT stock with a Magpul PRS. Couldn't get a decent comfortable cheek weld with the RAT stock.

Just ran my tobr with a 22" 260 barrel today at a local range out to 600 yards. Very impressive gas gun. No malfunctions with factory 130 hornady eld-m ammo. Velo with a DA under 1000 was at 2736 fps average @ 95 degrees Fahrenheit. Shot 12 rounds over a chrono to find where it's nodes were with different charges. Two nodes were found, one roughly at 2700 fps and the other at 2800 fps with 130 eld m's with h4350 and Norma brass. But with factory ammo we went 90 percent with three different shooters at 600 yards on 3/4 & 1/2 moa targets over 50 rounds. Extremely impressive, especially considering an AI axmc with a 6.5x47 Gradous barrel next to it had roughly the same hit percentages.
