K-Bars What Knife is in your pocket right now?

I always wanted one when I was younger, but I never got around to purchasing it. My Dad bought one that he found at the swap meet. After playing with it, I'm not a fan of the locking system and having to do sign language trying to close the blade with one hand.

Are you referring to the mickey mouse safety? That can be removed.

Turns out it was a M21, not the M16. It's the smaller version also, so that could partially be why it's awkward to manipulate.

It's not my knife, so the safety is staying on. After playing with it a bit more, it's not that difficult to unlock if I don't overthink it.

piece of crap RUKO153, super sharp folder and a SCHRADE old timer. I was a dumbshit and walked right up to TSA with an Emerson folder in my back pocket, brain fart and shit, i threw the Emerson in the trash can just to get thru security. I haven't recovered from that loss yet. I am going to spring for the GERBER APPLEGATE/FAIRBANE soon though, as a folder.

LOL Thought I was the only one. Lost a couple nice Gerbers that way. One I handed to a janitor working nearby as my bags were checked. He was overjoyed. The last time I pulled that brain fart, I stashed my favorite Benchmade underneath a toilet in the Head by the gate. It was still there four days later on my return.

Have you taken it apart yet to clean it? My Benchmade Autos get dirty fast/pocket lint etc
Nope not yet. I brush/ blow the lint off and run it under water and when its dry add a little graphite lube to it and it has never got sticky or gummy and always opens smooth and locks up perfect.

I would love to have clips in jeans color, OD green or desert tan, matching to my trousers.

In Germany it is a problem.
Because of the bright shining clips, or the black ones which get "chrome" by wearing, I often get asked from other persons why I´m carrying a knife.
You know what I mean.

It is not totally forbidden yet, but the laws are getting more restrictive almost every year and the other people (the so called "bettermen") are not willing to deal with it.
It pisses me off.
In a more free society I would answer: "Because I can."
Here I say, that as a country boy I got my first knife from my grandfather when I was 3 and carried it and then others eversince (which is actually true).

But wouldn´t "matching clips" be a blast?

I used to carry a Benchmade socp dagger and Spyderco para 2 but lately I’ve been switching back and forth between the Benchmade emissary 470-1 and the bugout. I wouldn’t want the bugout in tactical situations but for everyday civilian carry I love it

Nice kit Apatche68!

I’m just mad at you dudes who are resisting this turning into a knife porn thread. Post pictures! I don’t want to be required to search for a pic. Come on now. :coffee:

I had a very nice and somewhat expensive pocket knife that i unfortunately managed to lose many years back. I was pretty disappointed in myself. Never did find it.
...not wanting to risk losing another expensive knife i read about and subsequently picked up an inexpensive Enlan EL-04 folder. Surprisingly it has turned out to be a pretty decent knife. I can't recall what i paid but i'm pretty sure it wasn't more than $15 or so some 7 years ago.

Nothing special but I just replaced my EDC with this Kershaw OSO Sweet. Awesome little work knife. I'm pretty hard on my knives so I don't break out my nice stuff for EDC. I've had the best luck with Kershaw blades and this one has been hard to beat.

I've been really lusting after a Spyderco Endura 4 Emerson with a signet ring. That and Matriarch with signet ring to keep it company. After handling a co-workers Endura Emerson I was very impressed with the quality of the Spyderco blade.

My EDC ever since my Benchmade Triage went swimming in the Gulf of Mexico.

Triage was a gift from the missus... I don't think she's figured out yet that it's a different knife. Happy with it once I got used to the lock one-handed.

I do miss the glass breaker... off road a lot and actually needed at one point.

Those are the coolest looking serrations I’ve ever seen. And I don’t carry serrations.
That’s a nice tanto. Hold onto that woman she’s got good taste.

Ohh Microtech auto! Very Nice man.

That says something about the quality of the knife.
Looks better than new, in my eyes.

Is it the light or the angle you have taken the picture?
Sorry, but it seems to have almost no edge.
That knife has cut sod, scraped gaskets, punched holes in drums, pried up manhole covers, cut sheathing on old steel water mains and much m more abuse.
There’s a lot of metal missing on that blade:)

Leatherman Charge ti. It's about 20 years old and on it's 5th sheath at the moment. Not sure what I'm going to do when it wears out #6 as that is the last of the old Leatherman sheaths I have and the new ones are shit design compared to the old. I'll probably have to have one custom made for 4x the price. Not sure what is going on at Leatherman lately but they seem to be chasing folks from SXSW more than those from the south and southwest if you know what I mean.

Drop a picture on us BigJim.

Benchmade knives are a great choice.

phil that’s very cool! SH9 mini kook Kirinite Knife. Can we get some more pics Phil? How long you been carrying that guy?
