One option is to have a rail added. Novak and probably others makes one that can be added by drilling and tapping the frame.
Here is my Para-Ordnance that has been rock solid. It let's you pick any light/laser you want. Holsters may be harder to find, it sticks down more than a railed 1911.
You could also look at the TLR-6 1911 if you are OK with the realativly low brightness.
