Gunsmithing What machines are scope rings and chassis made on? mill, 4th axis, 5 axis, lathe, etc?

Title says it all. Im wondering what type of machines scope rings, bases, and chassis get machined on. Possibly a combination of all of them? I'm not a machinist, thus the very generic question.

All of them.

If you start with a 5 axis you can do damn near anything. If you only need 3 axis why did you pay for 5?

They use what the part and tools determine is efficient.
 
Spuhr runs 5 axis mills with robots. Benefit of running a 5 axis is you can run 3 axis programs using the other 2 axis to position without refixturing.
