Is this a good precision rifle for the money or are there better rifles in the $2000 price range?

A lot depends on what you want a Precision Rifle for. The Cross is kinda a light weight rifle, sorta a hunting/target/plinking rifle.

Does the vagueness of my last sentence give you a good understanding of the Cross. Its a sorta rifle. Sorta good for this, sorta good for that, sorta good.

However,

If you want a rifle for Precision Rifle shooting, at your price point, any of the “production rifles” selling mostly for the 2500 dollar range, some more some less, but by the rules all must be under $3000.00 all are much, much better rifles for this endeavor.

For a hunting/plinking rifle, there rifles such as the Ruger American Hunter, Bergara B14 and others.

For strictly a hunting rifle, that is good out to long ranges, multiple rifles exist that are more traditionally styled.

So, the real question is, For what use is expected for your prospective purchase?

They blow ass, I couldn’t wait to get rid of mine. Also not super easy to shoot because of the light weight and not comfortable to shoot for long sessions for the same reason.

For $2K you can do a hell of a lot better. The best way you could spend $2K would be an origin or coup de grace, trigger of your choice, a proof SS prefit, and a KRG bravo. If you want off the shelf buy a Seekins.

It's a hunting rifle and is an excellent choice for that. Mine is 1/2" accurate and easy to shoot, not sure why people have any problems shooting them...

Is a Top End, off the shelf turn-key package. I not seen a Havak till last week, when I had chance to fondle an 'element' at the Range. Nice craftsmanship, lightest weight rifle I have ever touched, and was a Hammer on paper.

When I needed a short hunting rifle to be nimble in a blind the Cross in .308 filled that need. I put a Gen 2 Little Bastard, Vortex Hog Hunter on it and I got a nice light, short, very, very low recoil hunting rig
