If you're not going to spend more than $50 on them the Burris XTR's are as expensive as I would spend on a conventional ring. If you really want the "best" rings out there I'd get the stuff coming from American Rifle Co.

The difference in the technology is worth the cost for a few reasons, not the least of which is the return to zero behavior if you have to take the scope off for some reason (traveling for a hunt, or a match)

I would look hard at the new APA rings. They will be on my next rifle for sure. Clever design and look great. I wouldn't worry about the price of the rings when they are holding a scope worth nearly 2 grand. I would get top quality for sure.

Watch for some like new Seekins in the for sale section. Roughly $100 and they're pretty sweet.

Seekins rings get my Vote if you don't want to do the NF rings.

Geez, not this "technology" crap story again.
There are plenty of rings that are MORE than capable to do the job and have proven themselves on literally thousands of scopes.
If you want to spend some money, go with
Badger
USO
If you don't want to spend quite as much, go with
NF
Leupold MKIV
And even Seekins
Do not get TPS.

I just bought the NF from a forum member and it doesn't come with rings.
I'm new to the high-dollar scope game, so I'm trying to figure out where to effectively spend my money. I don't want to skimp on rings, but I also don't want to throw $250+ at something where $100 will be just as good.
One more thing, since I haven't received the scope (and thus have been unable to measure), does anyone know off-hand the ring height I need to clear a 50mm objective on a 20 MOA rail?

Aren't NF more than Badger? For medium 30mm rings I got quoted at $160ish for NF and $145 for Badger.
