What shooting mat are you using?

SORD/Low Vis Gear - Enhanced Shooting Mat

In the market for a new shooting mat. Would prefer a padded one, what is everyone using?

Thanks,

Buckeye

If it's not for hunting and for a range use only and you want it to double up as a carry bag then a Vism/NC Star is the way to go.

Rarely I'll say this but they are cheap but very cheerful! They're thickly padded, have loads of storage and are big. I think they're also about 70 bucks from Amazon which is awesome value considering how well made they are. I looked at quite a few brands and after some research I went with this model, although I did have my doubts because of the price but I honestly can't fault it.

@96C - that's a high-dollar mat, but I like supporting made in Aus stuff ... can you talk us through why it might be better than some of the other options here?

Definitely not a cheap option, however it's made with USA imported materials, by SORD Australia who have been making equipment since 2004 and will never die... It folds down small, lays out easily, has coverage in the required areas, foam lined in critical areas to protect the shooter from rocks and cold, bipod loading strap if you're into that, removable dope card holder, zippered storage, etc...

It has been designed by serious shooters who focus on making GOOD gear, not china spec cheap shit that takes up half a car boot and comes apart after two trips into the hills. There are a lot of excellent option on the market, I built this one as a G2 upgraded version of the original shooting mat that is much sleeker for living in an ALICE framed pack for recon / snipers.

They should be back in stock within the next month, been waiting on A-Tacs IX 1" webbing for months, shortages all over!

I've got the Midway roll up mat.
I like it, but, it needs a hunk of PVC or something to load the bipod. That's a 5 minute fix.

However, I also keep a Harbor Freight moving blanket behind the rear seat of my truck for the days I forget the mat.
Under $5 and it works great too. Just spend the extra on the larger size, you'll thank me.
I use those moving blankets all the time. Super light.

Several days of looking and I’m really down to the Crosstac or Cole-TAC. Currently own the Tab Gear mat but am wanting something with built in bipod support. Both do it differently and one rolls and one folds. Curious to whether or not the Cole-TAC straps will work with an Atlas CAL. I imagine they would... Maybe looking to be swayed one way or the other. I doubt either is a bad decision.

tried to find a picture of a overly nice shooting mat with a lazy boy and a pitcher of ice tea on a really nice table to post but could not find it . so I went with this one .
