What Suppressor for 6.8 SPC II

Before things get to bad on bans and things my next investment is goin to be a Suppressor. Checked into Wilson Combat since I have a WC barrel. They are pretty expensive. What others do you guys run/ recommend? Effectiveness and clean ability?

Not sure who all makes one specifically for 6.8 but any 30cal will work. With only a couple of exceptions the threads on 6.8 barrels are the same as 30 cal.

My WC barrel has 5/8"-24 threads.

Thunder Beast 30P1. Great can from a great amaerican company. Has the ability to shoot anything from .300 WM down and quiet. Either way the common thread is 5/8-24 3a

Noveske makes 6.8's I really like thier switchblock model for the 5.56. may want to look at Rainer arms too

Surefire makes a 6.8 suppressor, less backpressure than the aac suppressors.

Are there any models or brands that you all would not recommend. Rainier has some AAC models that are reasonably priced.

+1 on the 30P-1, that is what I will be running along with a TT Archangel. I really don't see the merit in buying a specific caliber can, it might be a little lighter and shorter but any of the quality .30cal rated cans offer more versatility.

aac cans are not known for good POI shifts or accuracy, the QD models are a joke.

Much better options out there such as the Thunderbeast. Don't skimp on a can due to costs, buy a good one to start with.

Depends on what kind of a can you're looking for. Are you looking for something that will give you the best sound reduction but is heavy and long, or something that is lighter and shorter but has a louder report. Also do you want quick detach or thread on?

I'm planning on getting a 30p-1 or maybe the 30ba for my .308 and 6.5 creedmoor. I'll just run that on my 6.8. A .30 can will be more versatile. I thought about he surefire 6.8 can which I could run on my 5.56 guns but I think I'll just do a 5.56 can for them and a .30 can for everything else

I want a can that has excellent noise reduction and one that can be cleaned easily. I am not really concerned as much with size. My Wilson barrel is threaded so I would prefer to just screw it on and go.

Ditto, regarding caliber choices:

Sure Fire SOCOM Mini 556 for my KAC SR 15 Mod 1 556, SOCOM 762 for my 6.8 Afghan, LMT MWS 308, and my future 6.5 Creedmoor bolt gun.

I watched a few of the videos the different manufactures have on their websites and the Thunder Beast 30p1 is in my opinion the best in noise reduction. I would think with lower pressures from my 16" 6.8 SPC I could expect even better than the .308 in their video for sound suppression. The 30p1 is now #1 on my short list of cans!

I don't think a .30 cal can needs to be cleaned but if that is a must, check out Templar's mono core.

30 cal cans work fine on 6.8's( and smaller diameter bore's for that matter). I have many rounds through a 6.8 with a 30 cal can, and performance is great.

Get the largest caliber you think you'll use it on...They get addictive quick. Before you know it, you'll have all your guns at the smith getting threaded and will be moving that can around like a Bedouin tribesman.

My experience is threaded cans are best for moving around hosts. My darling's new favorite iron is my 28" bbl's 7mag with my 308 can fitted.

Everything I hear about Zak and his thunderbeast has been top notch, I don't have one of his cans...yet

Seriously look at Doug Melton's gear at SRT Arms.

I would get a 30 cal can if you ever thought you might need a 30. If not get a specific 6.8 and then you can use it for 5.56 too.

False. AAC was purchased for, I believe, every military competition AAC was tested for in the last few years in every caliber from 5.56mm to 300 WM to 338. Accuracy and POI shift are the two most important things they look for.

It is well known you purposely blast the boards with anti-AAC posts.

Yup and we all know how contracts work, if you are the cheapest, you win. aac cans have never been known for accuracy or least POI shift. Just because your check comes from there doesn't mean they make the best cans, there is a reason you don't read much about them here other than the shotty QD mounts.

My element still has probelms, but aac is the best.

And it's well known you were kicked off 2 sites for spreading shit, next.....

Wrong again. We just don't talk about POI shift in every sentence like the vendors "known" for it. It is a given. Our 338 can was almost double the price of the Surefire, and we still won - it was that much better.

Being banned from AR15 and 68forums just means they felt I was interfering with their marketing.

There are no AAC cans out or in development with a SF type mount.

I have shot with several and was impressed enough with them that when I bought my first can, that is what I went with.

Which one specifically gave you the problems? And how much was your POI shifting?

I've heard nothing but great results from people who use AAC.
