This is the decapping pin of a fl resize Redding die. Brand new! I got it in the mail today, had resized about 150 rds and bam, this happened. I bought these days because the same thing had happened to my rcbs dies. Reloading on a Dillon 650xl. Any ideas of what the problem is? They aren't crimped primers

Looks like your tool head is not aligned with the shell plate holder. When I was trying to set up a customized decapping die for very small flash holes I found I got better success by first getting the case inserted up into the die then tightening the lock collar afterwards. This was after doing a lot of fine tuning with the alignment pin to get the top of the ram aligned with the tool head.

Not using PMC or Fiocci brass are you? That stuff has primer flash holes that arent even close to where they should be. Off centered holes are the only thing that comes to mind. Ive bent plenty of pins, but I've never had a stem come out like yours did. How hard are you ramming that thing in there?

It happens to me every once in a while. Usually an off center flash hole. Thats why I standardized on redding so I can cannibalize parts to make it through till the new one ships.

That thing is bent like a mothereffer . You must be pulling the ram like a one arm bandit, nice and easy.

Are you absolutely sure you don't have the decapping stem screwed too far into the die, therefore bottoming out in the bottom of the case? You only need enough of the pin protruding to knock the primer out.......

Ya I gave the ram a pretty good pull..... but in my defense, I've reloaded for 11 years in a Lyman that always took some force and the 650 is like butter on ball bearings, I'm still trying to get used to it.

I did have the stem down aways as not all the primers were popping out. I did get into some berdan without knowing it. I'm going to just order several stems from Redding and start there. What brand universal decapping die should I look at?

No kidding, the Fiocchi that I have is terrible.
