What to expect from a kidd supergrade

They guarantee 1/2” or better at 50 yards. If semi auto is what your after Kidd does make a nice rifle as well as others.
I cleaned the 50 yard KYL at our last 22 match. The smallest target is 1/4" in diameter. A clean stage included 3 hits on that target. My son (14) went 8 for 10 with one hit on the 1/4 inch target. This was with Lapua centerX ammunition. We had a light 2-3 mph wind, so I dialed 0.2 mil right and let the rifle do the rest. In fact, I dropped 2 shots over the entire course of fire (76 shots).
My Kidd is in the 18" non-fluted, non-threaded, stainless barrel, magpul stock, light field weight 2 stage trigger with flat bow.
Is it worth the cost? Demonstrably better shooters (guys in the pro division at our centerfire match) in my squad shot poorer scores using a Ruger Precision Rimfire with SK ammunition.

I regularly shoot with guys that have all manner of 10/22 variations. Volquartsen, Kidd, Clark’s Custom, and all the different home brews. All preform well above the stock 10/22. To date, the same 3 shooters win consistently. 1 has a Volquartsen, one has a Kidd, and me with my Clark’s Custom. The Volquartsen looks the best in fit and finish. It also shot just as slick from day one. The Kidd smoothed out during the first outing, and had a nice fit and finish. My Clark’s smoothed out at the end of ammo testing. It looks great but not on par with the Volquartsen. And just a step below the Kidd. Winning the match has come down to who feels better that day and who has the least unaccounted for flyers (22lr are notorious for this). I chose Clark’s because the end result is the same for a fraction of the cost of the others. Also, Clark’s invented the accurate 10/22 decades ago. What ever you choose you will like and not regret. Per my experience, I have yet to see target justification for the threaded barrels on the super grade.
I been shooting all kinds of 10/22 rifles for close to 50 years now and my kidd super grade has become my favorite.Im not a match shooter but i can do head shots on tree rats at 100 yds with no problem.I also love how easy it is to change the barrel if i need to.
For what it’s worth I have a Kidd supergrade and I’m not really impressed by the accuracy. I’ve contacted Kidd about it and they sent me another barrel to test ( super customer service) but unfortunately the new barrel performed no better than the original. I have several 10/22s set up in different configurations and the most accurate one I have is a ruger 10/22 action with a Volquartsen carbon tension barrel with a compensator. The Kidd supergrade fit and finish is nice and the trigger is excellent by comparison to all other 10/22 type triggers.
i owned/shot a kidd supper grade for awhile...tried most all the better ammo and settled on the SK pistol match...it shot at least a 1/2moa or better but 90% of the time i had one flyer outta every mag...i chased it for a few months and finally sold it....loved the rifle hated the flyer.
As far as 10/22’s go, the best ones I ever seen where built by joe chacon. They sure ain’t cheap but you get what you pay for and he guarantees accuracy last time I checked!
i had a CZ455 and sent it to djdilliodon and had him do his magic to the action and bolt and install a lijia barrel...it was a tac driver but i hated the trigger(timmney)so i sold that and bought a vudoo...if you can swing it just buy a vudoo to start with...we are going out in a couple of hours ill try to shoot some 100yd groups and post them.
then the kidd super grade would be what i would chose even knowing it could possibly have a flyer now and then...get the 2 stage trigger if you go kidd and the titan stocks are real nice for the price.

I shot the Texas Precision Matches 22lr match in Cawthon again this weekend and went 72 of 77 with my Kidd supergrade. The only dropped points that were not wind related were due to my son handing me a magazine with only 8 rounds. That was a 3-way tie for first place. The rifle went 9 of 10 on the 50 y kyl rack (one miss out of 3 on the 1/4 inch target) and 10 of 10 on the 125 y kyl rack (I am unsure of the target sized). I haven't seen any missed shots I could attribute to ammo or rifle in about 600 down the barrel.

I have a Kidd Supergrade with Kidd's 2 stage trigger in a Titan stock with Titan's rear, IMO it is the best 10-22 setup you can get. It will shoot .5 moa out to 150yds. with Eley Target and Club. I have won steel match out to 200yds. I know 5 guys that have Kidd's with the same results.

No, I take it out of the stock. I do remove the barrel to clean, when it gets a super cleaning once a year. I run a bore snake or rip cord for normal cleaning.

IMHO no...the CZ455 i had was more consistent outta the box...the vudoo trumps both...the problem with the kidd i had was the 1 flyer outta every mag...9 would shoot tiny groups and then that 1 was like WTF....and never the same round....some times #3 then next mag #8 next mag #5...
My Kidd Supergrade is more accurate than my CZ 455 Varmint. My Tikka T1X comes close to the Kidd. I would say the upper priced bolt guns would be better.

I am seriously considering the Vudoo instead of the Kidd. Originally, I thought I would get the Kidd, and put together a 10/22 myself, and order the Vudoo later. Now, I am rethinking that, and might put the money I was going to spend on the Kidd on some really nice glass for the Vudoo. While you can never have to many guns, I think it might be better to have the good glass for the Vudoo than try to buy something budget, just so I can also have the Kidd.
if you have the money buy the vudoo...i did not want to buy a vudoo because of the price(not because i dont have the money but because im tight)but im glad i did and would not hesitate to do it again.
I have two Kidd Supergrades. One with the light barrel and one with SS barrel. Both are excellent. Not sure if they do the light barrel anymore.

at least in terms of competition results at the NRL22, kidd, high end anschutz, and vudoos all place very similarly. the NRL22 2018 equipment response list and utah NRL22 videos have kidds and vudoos side by side in the top places. accuracy ceiling is always a concern, but it would seem at least for even high level NRL22 competitions, other factors matter more.
The most important factor when it comes to accuracy is the person shooting the rifle. I have a newly built 10/22 with a Kidd action and 2-stage trigger, Feddersen barrel, Victor Titan stock with rear tang that given the right ammo is more accurate than I'll ever be in NRL22.
I shot the 2019 NRL22 finale in Vegas over memorial day wknd and vudoos dominated the field. I'd say 50% vudoos and 50% everything else. (Rprr, CZ, Kidd, etc) I have a vudoo myself and am in the process of building a kidd to shoot and have as a backup. Looking forward to testing them against one another
I agree. I also shot the NRL22 nationals with a Vudoo. The wind was the deciding factor there , not the rifle. The luck of the draw in shooting the 330 yard stage before the wind came later in the day was a big part of it.

It’s still not as accurate as either of my Vudoos, but for normal monthly NRL22 matches that are typically 2 MOA sized targets it’s plenty accurate enough. The Vudoo really starts to outperform the 10/22 platforms when you get to 300 yards and beyond .

I've never really competed until this year. I have a 10/22 with a lilja bbl and a 8/8 Kidd 2 stage. I have a 4x5 at 25 yds in the just over mid zero's. Shoots really well close but ive noticed the same as mentioned above. At 100 I may get 1 or 2 fliers out of a magazine. I noticed this shooting 200 yd sihlouette. With no appreciable change in wind and a solid hold, would hit some targets dead center and others a clean miss. I'm talking 7-8" targets. In the nrl match at 100 on a 3" plate. 4/6 dead center, 2 clean misses with no wind that day at all. Got a Vudoo and that problem is solved
Fliers in a 10-22: 1)first shot out of a full mag often a problem. Try burning it 2) try a number of mags. Often one will shoot better 3) the side to side slip between bolt and receiver allows boldface to slightly mid-align on occasion which will throw flier. Look to Joe Chacon or Randy at CPC to eliminate this 4) shoot at 100 with low sun at your back, watching bullet track. If any corkscrew seen, change ammo. The good stuff at 25-50 May not work at 100 5) given some perfect conditions expect a tuned 10-22 to post some 5 shot groups at 1/4”, and most at 0.6”, with nothing over an inch
