First off I hope I have posted this in the right area.
So I have been reading countless forums here and other places and still haven't gotten an answer I can understand.
I have a 1998 Remington 700 PSS with a 26" barrel in .308. I have been shooting Federal Gold Match .168 BTHP. They have worked out fine but I am looking to get out past 1000 yards. Maybe 1100-1200 hundred. My barrel has a 1-12 twist.
With my length barrel and caliber in laymans terms. What would be most beneficial for me? .175 SMK or I was checking out Black Hills Gold .180gr. OR Hornady Palma A MAX .155gr?
I sort of get that barrel length and twist will help with accuracy and FPS. And the higher grain will give more velocity. Correct?
I am in the DFW area with an altitude of around 650 or so. Average humidity is 65 but it does vary.
