What does it matter?
If you rub Dove lotion on your hands, all actions will feel smooth.Impact seems to have been blowing up. I haven't felt one myself, but everyone talks about how smooth they are.

I am waiting for one of those to come in for a build.Impact
I like the Borden Super Short 6!

The one I played with didnt do anything for me. So yeah I agreeVery very overhyped.
I agree as well. I didnt see anything special about the impact compared to its competitors. The Curtis and Mausingfield are my favorites, but the Archimedes seems interesting as well.Very very overhyped.

Is impact coming up with something new?
Not what I've heard!
I have a curtis axiom, and kelby atlas, but looking forward to the impact. If it ever shows up! Lol
The curtis has a 60 degree throw, but requires a bit more effort on the second stage, the kelbys is easier to throw but is 90 degrees so if you have large hands , they tend to get caught on the scope and mounts. It's a horse a piece, take your pick.
I would guess Impact and Curtis will have big years.
For me it’s just next one I don’t have yet. Every time I build the end all rifle I finish it and within 2 weeks my brain sees a different action and I think. “Ooo a piece of candy” and build another rifle.
The only action I handled that I that I thought lived up to the hype was the Lone Peak. The Impact I handled was filthy, granted, but in that condition it was not slick. It still cycled, but it was not smooth. You could also bind it just like everyone critizices of the TL3. Lift up on the handle when it's too the rear and push fwd. Simple solution is don't do that, but that it is the criticism of other actions and I don't see the the Impact as being immune to that. The Lone Peak is.
I will say this about the “hype”. I was skeptical about the Impact. I’ve owned most actions. Started with a Surgeon, then Defiance, then Bighorn TL2 then a TL3, back to Defiance and now an Impact.
First impressions of the Impact from handling it only are very slick. Slicker then the rest I’ve handled except for a Nitrided Defiance I had for a good while. To be fair the Impact was handled right out of the box “dry” and it’s brand new and still slicker then any other action I’ve owned expert for the well worn Defiance mentioned.
The Impact is not Defiance “tight” but it locks up tight. It has just the right amount of play and no matter what angle I induced pressure from it would not bind. No other action I’ve owned or felt has done that. Really looking forward to getting it built and wore in to see how slick and smooth it really is.
The hype is real IMHO.
