What's going to be the hottest action this year 2019

I bet I can guess which manufacture will take the longest to deliver and have at least one revision before everyone who pre-orders has had an action delivered....
Clearly they are all different in the revolutionary way they each chamber a round differently and not just the same as picking your favorite cereal.
If you rub Dove lotion on your hands, all actions will feel smooth.
I got to handle this action yesterday. It is badass! Super slick and very well engineered. Looking hard at getting one myself.

I agree as well. I didnt see anything special about the impact compared to its competitors. The Curtis and Mausingfield are my favorites, but the Archimedes seems interesting as well.
I can't imagine anything better (probably as good or close) than Kelbly's Black Bear action. It's on the beefy side, but it is super slick, and the TG ejector is phenomenal.
I’ve heard they might do a long action for this year but with shot coming to an end I didn’t see anything which disappoints me a little. Love to try one but need a long action

I know some people that love the Impact, and other's that feels it overhyped and doesn't do anything better than it's competitors.
At the end of the day, it's just a nicely refined version of a Remington 700 action. There's nothing new, clever or ground breaking about the design, it's a nice 2-lug pushfeed action based on the Remington 700.
I am liking the shorter throw actions better,
The Ultimatum and right now I am shooting a Cadex Sheepdog,
I saw a JJ Rock short action that is very nice and you can change the bolt heads, stuff like has the most appeal, ala Bighorn. It’s only $850 too.
If you’re gonna play the magazine game, wanting to use an AW style, stick with the 3 lug variants, most of the 2 lug, 700 clones are well made but boring, nothing wrong with choices, but at least do something a bit different.
The over hyping is real, it’s part of the game, we get it, but there are some features sprinkled around that have real world benefits. After all the action is just the delivery device.

The "hottest" action is regional dependent and whichever the local gunsmiths, sponsored shooters and manufacturers push. In some areas it's the Curtis action, other's it's Defiance, other's Impact, other's AI, etc.
For example, The NW and Louisiana loves Defiance. Defiance is built in Montana, and the Allen family pushes the Defiance in their area. In Texas, specifically South Texas, AI's are huge where Jacob of Rifles Only has a large influence. The NE seems to be about Bighorn - PVA pushes those. Etc.
Impact is getting a lot of free press - they have great connections in the industry based on their background and their actions have gotten into the "right hands" to make a splash. In turn people like Impacts, and then shout about it on the internet to receive their confirmation bias.
I don't believe in one action being the "hottest action" nor the best action. They all have pro's and cons. Just beware of the echo chambers you hear on the internet, and buy the action that has all the features you want and feels best for YOU.

Sticking w my Surgeons and Defiance Ion Bonded actions. Years ago all the cool kids ran them lol.....
What’s your thoughts on the two you have. Benefits going one over the other? Which do you prefer and why?
The curtis has a 60 degree throw, but requires a bit more effort on the second stage, the kelbys is easier to throw but is 90 degrees so if you have large hands , they tend to get caught on the scope and mounts. It's a horse a piece, take your pick.

I’m having a rifle finished currently, should be back within the next 2 weeks hopefully on a kelbly atlas tac action but trying to go back and forth on the next build and right now I’m debating on the bighorn, and defiance. If impact comes out with a long action I’ll be going that route but Joel has brought to my attention a few times his action.
Yeah, yeah... Impacts are WAY overhyped. Send them all to me, I will dispose of them properly 
I see the Impact as a Surgeon Alternative. Wade worked for Surgeon, it makes perfect sense and for those guys who loved a Surgeon but did not like the changes when the company was bought, Impact is the best option out there.

I will say this about the “hype”. I was skeptical about the Impact. I’ve owned most actions. Started with a Surgeon, then Defiance, then Bighorn TL2 then a TL3, back to Defiance and now an Impact.
First impressions of the Impact from handling it only are very slick. Slicker then the rest I’ve handled except for a Nitrided Defiance I had for a good while. To be fair the Impact was handled right out of the box “dry” and it’s brand new and still slicker then any other action I’ve owned expert for the well worn Defiance mentioned.
The Impact is not Defiance “tight” but it locks up tight. It has just the right amount of play and no matter what angle I induced pressure from it would not bind. No other action I’ve owned or felt has done that. Really looking forward to getting it built and wore in to see how slick and smooth it really is.

Everyone I know who's handled both the Impact and the Lone Peak (including some top tier gunsmiths) says that the Lone Peak is better.
Funny how you don't hear much about it. Guess there's no more "hype" to go around ?
To be fair, there is plenty of “anti-hype” too. And not just for Impacts but with anything. People that dislike product X for one reason or another. Impacts are popular for good reason, but for as many guys that swear by them (myself included), there are plenty of detractors too.
