Bought this at an auction. I have never owned a Springfield, so I thought I'd give it a whirl.

I tried to look it up to see if there was any info out there, to no avail. If anyone knows anything about this model, I'd love to hear it. I'm not sure if it is a special model, or a commemerative edition, or what it is. I can't find another one just like it. It says "IPSC Match" on the right side of the frame and "model 1911-a1 cal .45" on left side of slide, both in gold. It has a ported barrel.

I am curious what you think it's worth, to see if I overpayed for it. It was definitely an impulse buy, lol

EDIT: After picking it up and really looking at it, I noticed it says "Ed Brown .45acp" on the barrel throught the ejection hole on slide, and "Brown" under the muzzle. Does this mean its altered? It was advertised as excellent original condition. So I'm wondering if Springfield would put these parts on, or if it's modified. What do you guys think?
Thanks

It shouldn't be too much...it's not a Custom Shop build, so I would say around or under $1k

Also, it does not have front checkering. What's the marking on the night sights to give you an indication of their age? Does it have a magwell?

I will be the first to tell you I don't know squat about 1911's. There is a loose stainless screw that was in the box that will thread in the bottom of the grip. Is this for a magwell?

I don't think these sights are night sights. There is just a red dot painted in the recess on the front. There is "Novak pat#" on the rear sight.

There is the words "Ed Brown .45acp" engraved on the barrel thats exposed through the ejection port on the slide, and it says "brown" on the muzzle, on the teardrop piece. Does that mean anything to you?

It has "Springfield Armory 1794-1994" on an emblem on the slide.

I didn't give 1k for it, so you are making me feel better. I was able to pick it up today, and I really like it. It's way nicer than I thought. Can't wait to shoot it. Just wish I could find ammo for it. It is absolutely rediculous how hard ammo is to find. People were paying 165 bucks for a brick of 22's at that auction on sunday....

Call Springfield with Serial # and you'll get the info.
I'd call it $7-800ish but to me the gold does nothing to help the value at all. Looks like a Loaded model slide, though the lower looks more like a milspec. Does it have a beavertail? (Pic doesn't look like it). Ed Brown parts can be ordered and "installed" by anyone so I wouldn't assume Brown had anything at all to do with this one personally.

The Ed Brown on the barrel and muzzle indicate it's got an Ed Brown Barrel and bushing. Nice looking piece. The screw on the bottom of the msh is most likely for a removable magwell such as offered by EB and a couple other companies. Looks like a 6" barrel that was ported. Not my cup o tea but should be a solid shooter. Looks almost like an early loaded model?
