Howdy All,
Well, it's been a long while since I built a nice bolt gun. After a long period if being unemployed, and then underemployed, I am finally making good money and looking to build a 300 Win Mag bolt gun.
Now, back in 2006, when I had my last gun built, the Accuracy International stock system seemed like it was coming on strong and was a better choice over the traditional glass bedded fiberglass stock. (Again, that's an impression, more so than an informed opinion.) Now, I see that Remington is using a chassis system in their MWS rifle. I see that JP Rifles is offering their own chassis system, as well.
SO, can anyone give me a run down of what systems are out there, plus strengths and weaknesses of those systems? Another question is, have chassis systems really outperformed the traditional bedded stock system?
Any information would be greatly appreciated.
