Why are they so friggin hard to order recently. I just ordered mine from buds after being alerted they were available again and after I ordered mine back out of stock they went again. I'm also in the list at cheapertgandirt as well as galleryofguns and no alert from them recently. Anyone know whats up about this lately?

I don't know, but I was going to order one myself until I found a good deal on a CZ 452 varmint. I liked the oversized bolt knob and threaded barrel, I guess I'm not the only one.

1 of my 8 or so local dealers can get one and they wanted $360. I can't find them in stock anywhere online either. As soon as buds gets them they go back out of stock. I'm glad mines on order

same setup I've got. those rifle setups fit each other nicely

Re: Whats the deal with the fvsr

I don't know if it is a geographical location thing or just certain dealers had them? I called three savage dealers in my area (the largest Bass Pro) and the smallest one (Mobile Shooting Center) had one in stock. Bass pro was kinda clueless about the FV-SR, second place said they could order and third my favorite place Mobile shooting center was a score in stock.

Not to rub it in but, I did what any good man would do and asked them to not let it move till I got there

I guess some gun shops just have the knowledge, it was the same thing when I ordered my LTR they came through fast and two other shops were "whats a LTR..."

Re: Whats the deal with the fvsr

I have been thinking that the shorter barrel may throw me off a bit on the fvsr vs my 20in barrel on my 10FP. If I did the math right the 20in barrel 10fp in a choate stock is the same length as a stock TR. Doesn't matter since I'm going to be threading the barrel on my 10 for a suppressor and that's why I ultimately went with the fvsr over the tr or the trr(hate the ugly rail system). There is also the price difference as well

Re: Whats the deal with the fvsr

I waited months for mine, then drove 200 miles round trip to pick it up. It was worth the wait. good luck in your search.

Re: Whats the deal with the fvsr

i just noticed on a Cabela's flyer that they mailed home that Savage now has the regular mark ii w/ a threaded barrel. would be nice for a lightweight build. it has irons and a threaded barrel, and that's all i would need for short range shots. wish they came out with that sooner! but glad you finally got a mark ii.
