For me the first gun related purchase of 2012 is a new Vortex Viper 6.5-20x44 scope. It should be here in a couple days.

An almost new Rem700 bdl for $375.00. It was vrey dry. Gave it a cleanup and she is pretty slick.

Now its decision time for the scope, as I am primarily going to use this rifle for a moderate weight hunting rig, I am thinking about the NF 2.5-10X32, but then again I may pony up for a S+B 3-12....

I made a deal with the seller and bought this Wilson Combat SPR 3 days into 2012
Going to pick up the neutered for NJ upper tomorrow from my gunsmith in PA (replaced the Vortex with a pinned JP Cooley brake) then going to the range regardless of how cold.

6.5 Creedmoor, 28" bart barrel, AICS 2.0, Tac 30 action, IOR 6-24x50 FFP. Finally got to shoot some yesterday, 100 yard groups for load testing. Love the gun, 6.5 is super accurate and you could shoot it all day. NO RECOIL. Can't wait to strech it. Next week the 200-300-400 yard test.
