I carry all day everyday. if you are going to exercise your right to carry it has to become part of your daily routine. train to present weapon from your various carry methods and ALWAYS maintain a low profile. no need to let anyone know your are armed until they are looking down the front sight. If you just got your permit i have to assume you have not had much experience with carrying a firearm at all times, you must train and understand the responsibilities that go along with carrying that weapon. and remember, just because you feel that weapon on your hip, SOB, Shoulder, Ankle etc... doesnt NOT mean anyone around you knows its there. keep it that way and stay in control at all times.
I cant say it enough. train to present that weapon from concealment. if your able to deliver a controlled pair from 15 yards in under 1.5 seconds you are almost where you need to be.

whats a bad area? when the SHTF where ever you are is immediately a "bad area". its better to have it and not need it, than need it and not have it.

That line of thinking is no different than saying, i put on my seat belt once in a while. The chance of any of us ever needing to actually draw and use our weapon in a SD situation is so rare that you would have to carry it 100% of the times for those odds to be in your favor. Even if you carried 70% of the times, you might as well just not carry.

Not a good plan. I'll bet you keep your firearms locked seperately from your ammo in your home too.
If I knew when and where I'd need it I would make plans to be anywhere other than then and there.
You gonna carry it with an empty chamber too?

It comes down to the basic premise that it is better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it. Whether the analysis is seatbelt use, only taking your medically-necessary prescription every once in a while, only wearing a condom if the girl seems particularly sleazy...it is all the same!! Do it all the time or don't bother doing it at all.
The only times when I do NOT carry are where I am prohibit by local/state/federal law from carrying (i.e. - government buildings/property, schools, etc.) and I don't carry in church...that's about it.

Yeah carry it all the time cause you never know when a situation will arise. Your probably gonna be a little nervous for a while carrying. Just remember to conceal it and leave it alone most people are sheep and arent gonna notice so dont touch it or move it around. It will be fine i promise. Practice practice practice. You need to be an asset to society not a threat.

Usually never..."why" you ask? Because my state sucks and self defense isn't a good enough reason to get a ccw according to the MDSP. Fortunately I have my VA ccw from when I was in school, so I can still carry when I go back to visit friends. Be happy that you live in a state that lets you exercise your 2A rights.

I carry all the time. It's such a common item for me now that, I occasionally find it on me when it shouldn't be.

I carry everywhere it is legal to carry all the time. I do not break laws though. Check your state laws.

^^^ Absolutely true! I have offered training to pastors, teachers and school administrators free of charge for that reason!

If I go through the front gate, I carry, no if ands or buts. The only time I do not carry, is if I am going to go get drinks at the bar (illegal to do so in Ca) and that is less than once every 3 months.

It's not about an ego or trying to be cool or being on a power trip. It's about being prepared to deal with a situation that you may not otherwise be able to handle.
Unbelievable responsibility and accountability when carrying a concealed weapon. You must understand that.
But rule #1 in winning a gunfight for your life is to bring a loaded gun.

I carry everyday. Its locked in its lock box in the truck when I am at Church and thats the only normal exception. I believe it takes time to get use to carrying with confidence though. If you just got permitted try just carrying your holster and keep in mind if you are paying extra attention to it others will as well. Just remember you are not going to need it 99.99999% of the time but when you do you will have the knowledge that no one will know you are carrying until you make it known.
For cpc1027 I still don't believe any American should be forced to get a permit to have a right that is already theirs by birth but I always try to stay legal. I couldn't imagine living in a place that steps all over your freedoms. I know the first time I had to get permission in other states in the north east while there working I was blown away at the questioning to carry up there. I have received permission everywhere I have ever ask in advance. I did at one time carry large sums of cash for work so it was never difficult to get permission. Can't say I ever tried MD though. Never worked there.

I recommend to everyone that they carry everywhere they go. I don't leave my home without it. Everytime you leave your home, you could come in contact with a problem or witness a problem and become the solution.

Everywhere including church. There are several well known instances where instances erupted within churches and resolved by CCW holders.
It is a minor "inconvenience" to carry and you are not obligated to become involved, even if you are armed.
Think of the consequences if you need firearm but don't have it. How long would that haunt you?

If you are unable to commit yourself to when and why you carry you should rethink the whole thing.
One who would only carry "in bad neighborhoods and after dark" may not have what it takes to carry at all. I'm not saying this to belittle or stamp on anyone's manhood but, instead, to maybe keep you from being victimized by your own weapon. Too many times I hear potential first time buyers say "This would scare someone wouldn't it?". I say if that is your purpose for carrying then buy a Halloween mask instead.

One of my biggest concerns is an altercation with someone who draws a gun and in their heart only wants to scare me, because I at that point will use every inch of training to stop the threat immediately and absolutely.
Carrying is a serious moral topic and if there is any hesitation by the person considering to use lethal force they are better off with a taser or other less lethal option.

You are correct. I like to be grouped in one statistic rather than the other, I am kind of biased...
And I fully agree that if you are going to carry you need to be proficent and have to practice / train regularly with the weapon you are carrying.

Major exception, I leave it in my car while I'm in my office...company policy. At home, it's on the coffee table in the living room or nightstand at night. If friend's come over to drink, I empty the chamber and put it away. Sometimes I ask my girl if I'm 'printing.' Otherwise, I'm comfortable that it's there.
I hope I never have to pull it from the holster in need, but if I should, I know I have it.

Most places around town I feel buktnekkid anytime I don't have at least the lcr357. Buckshot judge stays at arms reach in the truck or on the hip in the swamp, so does the AR... Pretty much toting at all times. Never had a problem in town but shit happens all the time around here and I would feel pretty f'n stupid if there ever came a time I could have possibly saved myself or someone else from harm and the guns were at the house or in the truck. If I'm at the lake in baggies and flip flops or hanging out with friends then I might not have a pistol on me.

The crazies almost always pick places to shoot up that are mostly defenseless either by policy (like schools or federal property) or convention - like a church. churches are usually public gatherings of closely spaced people where the threat of violence is the last thing on their mind - thus making them an easy target for the deranged or evil. Seems the wackos avoid targeting the local gun club, off-duty police hangouts, NRA conventions, etc. I wonder why.
Since in my opinion morality is not a matter of location, using justifiable deadly force in a church is no different than anywhere else.

I never leave the house with out, my Glock 23, or NHC pred II, extra mags, knife, and sometimes a LCP too. Both guns have surefire X200 lights. Plus I carry a phone, keys and a wallet. Dam 5-11 pants pockets ever where. Gotta to fill them up. I have custom kydex holster and mag poaches for them. Great for any situation. My gear goes on after I shower in the am and comes off when it's lights out. If you prepare for the worst, you'll never be surprised. I also carry a QRF in the truck. Shotgun Mossberg 500 with 100 rds of slug, buck, and home made personal protective. If I travel(only to ccw friendly states) I take 4-5 extra mags, 200 rds of pistol ammo, and 200 rds of ammo for the 500. You never know when the Zombia's will attack.

Wow seems like everyone carries all day everyday. I think I'm definitely going to have to research how to conceal it better. It doesn't seem possible with a tshirt and jeans unless I have a shirt 2x as big
Honestly I haven't carried yet. Waiting to get paid to get some bigger clothes and shop for a couple button down shirts to better conceal

You have to dress to carry. By that I mean you will have to fit your clothing to disguise your gun/holster/magazines combo. I can get away with the same size clothing depending on brand sometimes, usually I have to go one size larger. I would recommend wearing your pistol when you shop. This becomes very important for pants if you are going to wear an Inside the Wastband (IWB) holster. You will have to get 1-2 sizes larger in order for it to fit. Make sure you sit down and check to see if it's comfortable, because if it's not, you will choose not to carry out of discomfort. While you're trying on different sizes and brands, you can also be confirming in the mirror that your weapon doesn't print.

My question is not when, but whether? Professional operators, manhunters, LE, PO's, judges, prosecutors have a reason to carry due to their history of hunting bad guys that might after parole be hunting for vindication. That's serious business.
But even in those instances the coward-ass clown seeking vindication usually won't get close enough for a fair fight with a concealed short gun. No, he'll set off car bomb or shoot the professional in the back from across a parking lot...something chicken shit, not like Clint East Wood and the bad guy dueling in the street paced off.
As far us others, open carry deters punks from screwing with us, but I don't see concealed carry as accomplishing too much. And when I carry in the car I tend to feel I can go where I shouldn't which probably invites trouble. When I used to carry it was when I was scared and I didn't know of what. Even then my weapon of choice was a Mini-14. Maybe carrying is a rite of passage? Warrior stage?

I also use a Cross Breed holster, great holster, it a tuck, i can wear shorts and a t-shirt. You can't tell i have a glock 23. They are not cheap but worth it. That or i wear polo style shirts often, with a white t-shirt.

I'm 33 got my permit the day I turned 21 and I can only count on my fingers the very few times I have left the house without a gun. All day everyday. So when the time comes, I Have it, and if not I have a constant reminder to be vigilant and aware of my surroundings. Also I do make it a point to shoot my handguns that I carry in the least once a week. Otherwise not knowing your weapon could cost you just as much as not having it..
