A friend was liquidating some machine guns and I started out with good intentions to help him move them. Evidently my intentions were better than my willpower. Filed two for transfers today and hoping my wife doesn't file likewise tomorrow

Hey, my son is the benefactor on the trust so this is basically a trust fund, right?

    Factory built Colt M16 A2

S&H Sear. Four position in a Dyer SP89 MP5K-N Conversion

    What else does he have?

I know he's got at least a mac 11 with multiple lage uppers and potentially a fleming sear. If your'e genuinely serious I can get detailed information from the original dealer tomorrow. My friend isn't much of a gun guy to be quite honest so he doesn't know the particulars of the items.

That M16-A2 looks super awesome... An icon of an era.

We can put together parts and assemble as many AR15-A2's as we like and even "defarb" them to a certain extent, but deep down, we know that they are never really a genuine A2...

It really is a pristine example. I doubt the thing has had more than a couple of magazines through it in its lifetime at most. No brass markings at all on the shell deflector. It's as clean as I've ever seen.

    I gotta be honest here....
This is the shadiest statement I have ever seen on the Hide.

How the fuck do you own such hardware and not be "much of a gun guy"?
So he just has shitloads of money and really fucking stellar toys.

Ain't no fairness in this world....

I've seen a few people that bought MGs in the 80s to early 90s purely because they saw the prices going up and knew they'd be great investments. The condition on the two OP picked up definitely make it look like his buddy was buying them as pure investments.

I tried to explain to him the word of our savior Col. Sanders that he should give them to me because he had many and I had none. He called me a socialist liberal pig and charged me $1,000 more than he quoted me the first time. Fair is fair I suppose...
