A friend of mine that works for a large corporation saw there was a job opening that would be perfect for a friend of his that is looking for work. We are talking a 6 figure management job and his friend is qualified with degrees and years of experience.

My friend has a friend that works in the HR department, he goes to that HR friend and says hey, I have a friend that is perfect for this job, here is his resume (his company has always been receptive to hiring referrals in the past).

The HR person asks him quietly, is your friend a white male?? He says, yes, why? The HR person said, well we are not looking to hire any white males, I will take the resume from you, but tell your friend there is no chance he would be hired for this position and he should keep looking.

WTF????

I know that is illegal as hell, but there is no proof of it, no recording or anything. My friend took it as the HR person just letting him know that his friend shouldn't wait for a call back or anything (like she was doing him a favor to tell him to keep looking, it wasn't said in a mean way, just hey heads up no white people)

I am all for giving anyone of any race a chance for a good job, but fuck me to flat out say sorry no whites, seriously !!

I understand we have to be fair in hiring practices, and sometimes need to work to complete the rainbow, but I have never heard an HR person flat out saying we will not even play the charade anymore to interview people of all races and then choose a non-white non-male to fill the position

I work for a large fortune 50 company. One of the biggest oil & gas companies in the world.

I went to recruiter training a few years ago, for hiring college new hires. It was eye opening and sickening. The hiring quota was for over 50% to be either female and/or visible minority. They knew for engineering it was a very small talent pool they were pulling out of, but SJW's don't worry about that. They said if two people had similar resumes, 10 times out of 10 pick the visible minority.

Definitely illegal hiring practices. The company I work for also loves to promote those that are female and visible minorities above their competency and skillset, so they can say that they have an 'x' number of females and minorities in certain positions.

Between that and the plethora of other bullshit, I'm really looking forward to getting the fuck out of employment from this company. Now that I finally got my green card, my options have really opened up. My tolerance for bullshit has gotten really thin over the last few years.

Shit man you had Fayetteville Fire Dept being thrown under the bus to the press by a city board member that the fire exam discriminated against minorities and complained that the Dept was not reflective of the community. Then they published the stats of who applied and who was hired...but ignored the fact that while there were a high number of minorities that “applied”, most never even completed the online application. As long as they clicked the vacancy link, it counted as an application, even if they didn’t complete or submit the actual application to the dept.

A long story, however I will do my best to keep it short. The year is 1973 and I was fresh out of high school. I just got married to my first wife and decided it was time to get a real job because I had to support my wife. (it's that old fashioned stuff) I went down to Mountain States Telephone and applied for a job. I filled out the application and the lady gave me a test on math, electricity, basic electronics (for 1973). A few days later they called me and asked me to come down and take another test. I went down and took the second test. I don't remember a single thing they asked that didn't seem elementary to me. A few days later I get a call and they told me I didn't get the job.

Me being me, I decided I would go downtown and speak to someone and find out why I didn't get the job. (the hardest thing to get rid of is a body) I talked to a real nice lady who eventually told me that they needed to hire minorities and veterans of which I was neither. She also told me I did really good on the test and if they weren't pushed to hire minorities and veterans, I would have the job.

I remember walking back to my truck feeling sorry for myself and at some point I kicked myself in the ass and decided that 'Plan A' didn't work so I would just have to find something else. That something else ended up being American Express and that started my career.

This shit has been going on for a long time and I don't see it getting better any time soon. I'm second generation in this country. The bad part is now not only am I white, I'm old. I'm in the process of getting pushed out of my role in a company to make way for the owner's daughter who is a femnatzi. I really want to know where I can use my 'White Privilege' card. All I know is Diners Club cards are accepted at more places then my White Privilege card.

It still needs to be reported as per your CR training. The HR person is in violation. Nevertheless, the job was already filled and the advert is just a requirement. White people do that sort of shit and a corporation should be promoting from within to begin with. Your friend should have played by the rules of the advert. Chances are he may at least got an interview if he is gold rather than white. Plus, it sounds like your organization is stacked with white males. You're fucking acting naive.
