Where to get same lot# components?

I always assumed if I order 500-1,000-2,000 bullets or 5lbs of powder or 16lbs that any large retailer would send the same lot number if possible, it has always been that way for me when I was buying factory ammo in bulk from target sports USA or outdoor limited so I ordered 500-147 eld-m bullets from midway (not 100rds x5 I ordered 1x500 quantity) didn’t want to go for the full 1kor2k until I know wether I’m sticking with the 140 or 147 and I’m glad I did not because I got 5-100round boxes of bullets in three lot numbers not a big deal because these are just to screw around but when I emailed midway to find out how I can know for sure I will get the same lot # next time if I order 2,000 or 1,000 they told me they won’t, they sell them as they are so who are you guys getting your primers,powders, and bullets from that will ensure I won’t get a grab bag ?

I just ordered 1k 147’s at one time (from midway) and they came as they typically do, in 5 box sleeves. Both were matching lot numbers. I usually write that I want matching lots in the note section of the order. I do the same with powder valley. I’m guessing most vendors would try to accommodate, but at some point they end up with a huge pile of singles, which they must sell.

I think Mile High Shooting Accessories or Powder Valley will strive to ship you a common lot. There are likely others.

I bought a box of Lapua brass from Brownell's and liked it enough that I wanted more of the same lot number.

I called Powder Valley and they took my down request, checked their warehouse and shipped it out the same day.

Powder valley seems to be the way to go then I get that they will have single boxes that accumulate but I have heard it over and over to get components of the same lot # to ensure I don’t have to adjust my process mid season I’m planning on getting 2k of the 140s or 147elds when I settle on one I’m not going to bother ordering that many if I can’t get the same lot is all also ordered 2k primers from midway while waiting didn’t know they could be mixed
