I am torn on scopes. I have a down payment on a viper pst 6-24x50 ffp and i really like the reviews on it (hence y i have deposit on one). but after looking around since they are on a forever backorder, I have been looking at the nightforce benchrest 8-32x56 Precision and the Leupold Mark 4 6.5-20x50mm LR/T M1. I am mostly doing 500 yard shooting, but will go out to 800 and 1000 yards. I like the FFP on the vortec but I like the 2 other scopes as well. should I wait on the vortex cause of the ffp or look more into 1 of the 2 other scopes? if go with the other 2, which would be the "better" one?

Think of it this way, if you dont like the PST you can sell it for close to what you paid for it and upgrade to the Nightforce. I think you'll be happy with the PST though.

for 90% of the rifles use, it will be a paper/gong/steel plate puncher. the other 10% will be any hunting i may get drawn for (put in for 4 things this past year, didnt get 1 of them )

If you don't need the first focal the NF woud be an awesome scope, or even the 5.5 x 22 x 56 NPR1, the NF is the best of the bunch IMHO.

I have the 4-16x50 FFP PST and the 8-32x56 NF BR and both have their own strengths/weaknesses. The PST does not have as good of glass as the NF and the construction, while very good, is not as nice as the NF. The big downside I have with my NF is that the internal travel is only 50 MOA total. Without a canted base, I think you're going to run into elevation trouble.

The FFP is nice, but really the NF BR with a canted base wins in my opinion.
