Suppressors Which dead air suppressor?

I know a lot will recommend tbac I will get one ordered for my next can. I want to get paperwork started one of these first. My time will be spent 90% at the range and 10% hunting. I do not shoot prs or nrl matches. I will use the direct thread mount and it will be on 24 inch barrel. What is everyone opinion on my first suppressor?

Strictly bolt action rifles tikka ctr 6.5 cm and .223 ctr. Not big into AR variants.

I’m really wanting the LT but not many reviews out on them yet.

I have one on order, that should be approved any time now... I was told by folks who have testing equipment, that they are the exact same numbers as the Nomad-L, just much lighter weight. I have been told the tone is just as good as the all-stainless Nomad-L, too.

I mostly hunt and shoot at the range, so I wanted lightweight and went with the Nomad-LT.

So far in my lineup, I've got a Nomad-LT, Sandman-S, Sandman-S FDE (MIL contract), Mask HD, and Rugged Obsidian 45.

The Sandman-Ti would be another good option, if you can find one in stock. The Sandman series cans have a great sound to them. If weight wasn't a factor, and you didn't mind running the KeyMount brake (which work REALLY well, even when unsuppressed) the Sandman-L would be a good options, as well.

100% absolutely correct

The Sandman-Ti would be another good option, if you can find one in stock.

Also an excellent choice for the $$. I have one and wish I'd had the fore site to buy a second one for $700 before they brought out the Nomad series and essentially stopped making it. It's not as deep of a tone as the Nomad-L and it is a few ounces lighter, but either one is an excellent suppressor OP.

Have a Sandman S, Ti and Nomad Ti. Get a Nomad Ti. Keeps the length down, and you won't be disappointed I don't think by not going LT. If it was 100% bench/prone use, then absolutely, go for the biggest baddest can and get the LT.
I shot all three of my cans on my 24" 6.5CM without ears (don't do that, still wear ear pro, you can just get away with less NRR). Shooting 5 rounds through each can I couldn't discern a huge difference. They're were slight differences, with the edge going to the Nomad Ti. But it was just slight.

We are a dealer for Dead Air, and other brands. The Nomad is one of the best "all around" Suppressors. The Ti is usually on back-order, and I would only recommend if you are trekking through the woods. With a bolt gun, I would not think the extra couple of ounces matter that much. You can never go wrong with the Ti, but I do not think you need to spend the money.

The Sandman is pretty much the Nomad with an attached Keymo. Make a decision if you need the quick disconnect. It is $250 for that privilege, but if you are bouncing between guns, you might want it.

Nomad L is going to get you a little more sound reduction, as you would expect from a longer device.

You can check-out what Jay at Pew Science shows as his results. For cutting edge performance, the CGS is gaining ground. The Lux from Energetic Armament is good. We usually start the conversation with Dead Air and the customer. If price is an issue, Rex Selenium is a good performer at a nice price spot. If price is not an object, TBAC usually is a great option. If military correct, we sell a bunch of Surefire and a little Knights here and there. The good news is there are so many good options out there today.

I’ve got Sandman K, Sandman S and Nomad 30 and while the Nomad isn’t as robust as the Sandman series, it’s definitely lighter and I feel like it’s quieter than the others. Get Nomad and Sandman S

Still waiting on approvals... The ATF is really dragging their feet on my first 3 stamps... I called Friday, and some guy answered (it's usually a woman, and she's typically polite and helpful). This guy was rude and I don't think he even looked it up. I think he pretended to, and then just said, "Still Pending..." and didn't say anything else. I said "Ok thanks." and he said, "Uh huh..." and hungup the phone. My first thoughts were "What a dick..."

At this rate, I wonder if I'll even get my other 2 by the end of the year, like I was figuring

Dang that sucks I’m waiting to hear your review on it. Not much info out on it still. I have the nomad ti in jail right now I want to go ahead and get another one on the way soon.

If this helps you make the choice, I was told by the guys at Dead Air, that the sound numbers and DB ratings are going to be nearly identical to the Nomad-L. Just the overall weight is WAY lighter, because it's solid titanium. None of the Ti cans (Nomad-Ti and Nomad-LT) can handle the shot strings and shorter barrels like the regular stainless Nomad and Nomad-L, because titanium doesn't handle heat as well as 17-4Ph stainless, so when it gets heated up red hot, instead of flexing like 17-4Ph stainless steel will, it will crack, because it's more brittle and not as flexible.

Just a heads-up on that since you said you already have a Nomad-Ti in jail. The same rules apply for both the Nomad-Ti and Nomad-LT, since they're both fully titanium cans.

EA makes an adapter to where you can use tbac brakes with the nomad (or whoever else with the standard threads) can. For that reason alone I'd skip the sandman, unless you're really "tactical" and whatnot.

For the AR's I have 2 Sandman-S cans. They work great. I highly recommend getting one of them, as well, because it's entire purpose is to handle hard-use, like full-auto and SBR's and things like that.

Been on kind of a suppressor buying spree (Sandman S, Nomad TI and Nomad L), but nothing has been released from jail yet, so my answer will be based on a fair amount of research, but no actual experience.

Since it's a bolt action, I'd skip the Sandman S, which is really designed for full auto/mag dumps, which you're not going to be doing. Also, since you plan to attach directly to your barrel and won't be switching around, Keymount is extra money you don't need to spend and extra weight you don't need.

That leaves you with Nomad, Nomad L and Nomad TI (if you're going with Dead Air). All will be lighter than the Sandman and I think have slightly better suppression. Between these three it really depends on your budget and tolerance for weight. Between Nomad and Nomad L my understanding is that the L is only slightly quieter than the Nomad, except if you're using a bigger cartridge like 300 WM. So, personally I'd go with the Nomad for 6.5CM. Of course, if weight/length isn't an issue why not go for the L? Finally, I haven't shot, but I have handled the Nomad TI. It is amazing. Incredibly light. So if you care about weight probably worth spending the extra money on the TI, particularly since with a 24" bolt gun overheating really isn't going to be an issue.
