Hi, I'm relatively new to precision shooting and just obtained Bushnell elite tactical 3-12x 44mm 30mm tube, G2 ffp. I have no idea which rings/mounts to go with to mount on Sig SSG 3000 m1913 rail. What are my options as far as 1piece mounts? Would one of the larue mounts suffice?

Thank you for any help!

In general, I find that the one-piece Larue mounts are too high even for an AR-15, let alone a bolt gun, especially if you don't have an adjustable cheek. The standard is 1.5 over the rail.

There are lower version of the Larue mounts, and the one I'm considering for the same scope is the LT-120, LaRue Tactical QD Scope Mount, LT120 | LaRue Tactical, it is 1.285" over the rail.

You can go lower if you use rings, but I don't see the need to buy QD rings for a bolt-gun unless you have some reasonable need to take it off and on.

Thank u! I've seen other mounts that have built 20 MOA, do I need that? The sig rail is 0 MOA. I'm looking at Spuhr mount too, but expensive...any other high quality options?

I'm ordering a GAP10 and plan to interchange it, or would I need an AR mount?

.308 pattern rifles have longer rails, so you don't really need a mount which sticks the scope far out over the handguard.

As to the 20 MOA, it depends on how far out you want to shoot without holding. To compensate for drop, you can dial the elevation. To a point you can only dial so much. The way angled (10 or 20 MOA) mounts work is that you are that it changes how the scope and rifle are zeroed. IE the zero would be 20 MOA from center. This would give you an additional 20 MOA to dial. All of this depends on how far you want to shoot, how much you can dial and hold with the reticle.

Even with a .223, you aren't going to need that extra 20 MOA until you get to some pretty extended ranges. By then, i'd want a bigger caliber and more scope.

Unless you are going to be moving the scope between several guns, I would recommend the lowest rings I could get from either Seekins or TPS. You have an adjustable cheek rest on the SSG, but it is a Pain the back side to constantly lower the cheek rest to remove the bolt for cleaning. You will also save a great deal of money by using rings instead of a one piece mount.

Thanks guys!

Ok let's scratch the whole interchange to AR platform. (Minimum 10 month wait anyways, and forgot GAP comes with mount) What would be the options for rings/mount for the bolt gun? Assuming 500 yards max range, most of the time would be 100yrd

Do i just aim for the 0 MOA mounts? Lowest possible height?

I'm such a newb and still searching a lot. Just when u figure out one thing, there's another piece to the puzzle to learn more about.

I see all the options for American defense for example, some mounts extend the optic further out than others? How do I know how far out doi extended it on the SSG?

For your SSG you won't need to extend it out like that . If are dead set on throw levers the AD-RECON - S or SL would work.
But really I would go with two rings like this before I used throw levers on my bolt rifles.

Ill y'all's advice and get the rings. On the seekins site, what's the difference between 4 cap screw n 6/4 cap screw option??

Looking at 30mm medium .87"...just dont know what's up with cap screw tho
