I have on order from my local gun store a 3.5x15x50 nightforce with the NPR1 reticle, but in stock he has the same scope with a mil-dot reticle. So the question is, which one should I get? Im putting this on my rem 700 sps tactical until I start my m40a1 or a3 build, so for now itll be used for hunting and long range target practice. What do you guys think? Thanks

Re: which nightforce to get

Get the one you want and don't get something you don't want because it's in stock. You want MOA reticle then get it.

On any scope though make sure the knobs and reticle match for ease of use.

Re: which nightforce to get

Damn, I thought you guys were gonna say that...lol. Ive been waiting 2 weeks for it already and all nightforce says is that its being built. Well, I guess you can rush precision.

Targetinsight, at what distance is the 3.5x15 good for, how many yards?

Re: which nightforce to get

I had no problem getting a good sight picture on a 5" dot at 1000. You'll be able to use it as far as that .308 will shoot without a problem.

And don't feel bad Kilroy I've been waiting on my 5.5-22 and a 1-4 for almost 3 weeks myself.

Re: which nightforce to get

The shooting gods must have heard me and I got the call today from Nightforce that my scopes were shipping today. Shouldn't be much longer for you Kilroy.

Re: which nightforce to get

I bought the NP-1 and love it for mostly deer hunting and some target shooting. The guys at Eurooptics are great to work with...I wanted the 56mm but he didn't have it so he cut me a deal on the 50mm. Now thats customer service and he and I both left happy.

Re: which nightforce to get

Got mine direct through NF but there are a bunch of good vendors here that sell them.

Re: which nightforce to get

No Tommy it's the standard SFP model. That said I will definitely be inline when the higher power FFPs come out

Re: which nightforce to get

well, the NF is finally on the rifle. Ill be taking to the range tomorrow to zero it. One question for the guys that have NFs, what do your zero stops look like? I didnt order the scope with the zero stops, but I think mine has them. They should be under the elevation turret right? I know it doesnt mean anything but my box has instructions for them, I would assume that if the box has instructions the scope should have the zero stops. The directions were on a seperate sheet of paper, not in the main booklet.

Thanks

Re: which nightforce to get

Does it have the stadia lines on the elevation body like on the scope below? If so then it's not a zero stop version.
