Put holes in paper and punch steel from 100 to 1K from bench and nontraitional positions. For range and comp use basically an all around general purpose optic

Is moa/moa more popular than mil/mil with the NF crowd?

Jimbo,
Jump on in the NF pond!!!
If you want a test drive on some mil/mil then PM me. We'll meet at the range this weekend.

Re: Which Nightforce?

I have a 3.5X15 with the NP-1 which I scalped off my Weatherby to put on my GAP-10. I definitely have to buy another NF for the GAP so this will help me out too. I have been drooling over the 5.5X22 with NP-R1 but also noticed the new MOAR reticle they have out for 2012. I notice alot of peeps around here like the 3.5X15 out to 1K though.

Why exclude the F1? It's the most popular for what we do for a reason.

I have one sitting here and out of all the stuff I have been sent to review this year, it's probably one that won't go back.

5.5-22X56 - MLR in the MIL/MIL or the new MOAR in a MOA/MOA.

Nightforce makes more MOA/MOA than MIL/MIL, but the MIL/MIL are catching on.

Re: Which Nightforce?

3.5-15x50 MLR2.

Because:

The 5.5-22s are limited as a SFP scope, and eye relief is more critical.

And there's no discernable difference in performance between the 50mm and 56mm objective.

Re: Which Nightforce?

After owning a 5.5-22 x 56mm with the CH3 reticle for the last couple of years I traded it away on a rifle. But I'm already shopping for another NF. I would like to get a 5.5-22 x50mm with Zero Stop and the NPR2 Reticle and high speed turets, MOA is fine with me.

Re: Which Nightforce?

Isn't it redundant to say:

"MLR mil/mil"

Or

"MOAR in MOA/MOA"

as MLR signifies a milrad reticle and and MOAR signifies a MOA reticle? As far as I know, Nightforce doesn't offer mixed elevation and windage adjustments.

Re: Which Nightforce?

Also, my 2cents:

If shooting for F-class or BR or just simple target shooting, I'd get the 5.5-22x56 or 8-32x56 NP-R1 with MOA knobs.

For field shooting, I'd get an F1 with an MLR2 reticle and milrad knobs.
