Looking at getting another optic for the latest build. The problem is, here in Canada prices are through the roof. Nxs/nx8 are 2800-3000, atacr/razor gen II 3500-3800, and zero 5000 and tanget 6500.

right now I have an nxs and a razor gen II. My latest build is requiring an optic and with first house just purchased, recent engagement and now my first baby on the way (it’s a boy!!) money is tight but want to get one before the kid arrives and money is nonexistent!

im not sure what to get, I’ll have to save a bit more butwould like to purchase shortly. I get incredible deals on vortex which makes it hard to pass but wouldn’t mind trying something else. If it comes down to it I’ll get another razor gen II, but is there something you would highly recommend over it, especially when it’s highly discounted?

If your prices are in CAD it’s the same as we pay in the states, just different currency, so probably no opportunity for arbitrage. An incredible deal on a vortex would be hard to pass up I think. That said zco is running a special that includes a Spuhr mount with the optic which is essentially a $410 usd discount on an optic that was already pretty competitively priced compared to a tangent theta anyway.

if it’s not a need I’d hold off and wait for that baby to come and everything to normalize a bit. You don’t want to go into that tight on cash.

More info would help.

What are you building?

What caliber, barrel length, intended use, distances and types of target, etc.

Run and gun? Shooting prone with bipod?

How much of your money can we spend?

well generally that’s how it should work, but there’s import fee’s, bullshit fees. For example a foundation chassis is 1050-1300 usd if I’m correct and was quoted 2990.00 canadian which would be 2150 usd!!! Zcr isn’t running the deal in Canada either.

problem is once baby arrives I know wife will be against it!

Build is a 25 creed for target and comp. comp in Canada isn’t exactly the same as the states or as often so main focus will be target. We finally locked down a private field we are going set up our own course of fire. 700-1100 yards. terminus Zeus, 26” medium Palma 1:7 twist 25 creed, mpa comp, tt diamond.

Who quoted you 2990 for a Foundation stock?

Reach out to Insite Arms for a foundation stock

If you get the team discount for Vortex its hard to pass that up for other tier1 scopes at retail price

The Gen2 razor is hard to beat for the money. If budget is a concern and you get the team discount I would go with another gen2 razor

that was insite arms! I had a rifle build from them last year so reached out I believe in February about it and that’s the rough price they gave me.

thats the reason I got the first one, and I’m heavily leaning for a second one

That's odd, could be the cost of bringing them in went up. I know it's a pain in the ass and expensive to import anything. I've done it for a stock and I'm in the process right now of having something else imported

I had one and I liked the Gen2 razor better than the Kahles I had. What drove me nuts about the Razor was the turrets weren't consistent throughout the travel. It was soft then got hard to turn

im hoping they made a mistake and meant 1990.00 but they said 2990.00 so I went a different route.

really!I have a gen II on my 6 creed and the turrets are awesome I thought. Relatively low profile but plenty wide, solid audible clicks. A second gen 2 was the way I was leaning just due to price, but haven’t settled on a decision yet.

It sounds like it was a mistake
