It depends on which rifle action you have. His Savage set up comes with a SUPER HIGH base and the Remingtons come with a little lower base.
Personally I set my Eliseo Savage up so that the cheek piece was up high enough to let the bolt go underneath it. I did not use his base, I used a 20 MOA pic rail, a Larue 5/8ths riser and .950 TPS rings on my S&B 12-50x56. This allows the rear of the bolt to slide underneath the cheek piece.
If you have a Remington action this will not be a problem for you as the bolt slides inside the tube. Since you have a really sweet fully adjustable cheek piece you have a lot of leeway for the height so going too high is not a big problem.
I would call Gary and he will make a specific recommendation on ring height if you want the front bell as close to the hand guard as possible. If you are not that picky then just get any 34mm ring over 1"
