or

I'll be shooting anything 100-800 yards. Some stand hunting for whitetail. What are your thoughts on these two, and what others would you recommend? Also, if you have any input on the rifle, that is welcome to.</div></div>

If you don't mind saving up $300-$400 more, you can pick up one of the SWFA Super Snipers in the Optics For Sale section.

Re: Which scope ~$700?

Go Vortex. Gives you illumination. Not sure where you're hunting, but for me in the woods of Western MD, a 6x low end magnification is too much, especially if the deer are on the move. I have their 4-16x and have used it out to 600 at the range without any problems.

Re: Which scope ~$700?

Check the adjustment range on the bushnell. Mine had very little elevation range available and could not be zeroed @ 100yds with a 20moa base.

+1 for this. This is the tactical scope to get in your price range. Mil/mil, ffp, a d. Enter glass than either of the two stated choices. I would either get it, or take the advice above and save for a swfa or hdmr.

Re: Which scope ~$700?

I think I have narrowed it down to the vortex viper PST 6-24X50 and the Weaver Tac 4-20X50. Both Scopes seem very well liked and I really can't pick a favorite. Would it be accurate to say that the Weaver might have slightly better glass?

Re: Which scope ~$700?

I guess I just don't have much experience with illuminated reticles. I just don't see myself ever using it. I might never go above 15X magnification, but it is nice to know that I have the option. I like the emdr though.
