Suppressors which Titaniumsuppressor for 223 varmint bolt gun?

Re: which Titaniumsuppressor for 223 varmint bolt gun?

It's not all Ti so you can throw it on an AR but it's light, quiet and super accurate.
here's a couple vids on an 16" FA. Keep in mind that this is our precision can I'm shooting on the AR.You'll never get it that hot with a bolt gun but you can toss it on the AR if ya want. On my 20" it's awesome for pdogs. Just sick.

Re: which Titaniumsuppressor for 223 varmint bolt gun?

Nice RayDog! I am waiting on a ThunderBeast arms 30 cal can to get to my dealer from a retailer here on the Hide.

I need to see if he has one of the Ti 223 cans in stock as well!

Re: which Titaniumsuppressor for 223 varmint bolt gun?

Talk to David at SHARK. See if he can make you a 223 can. His cans are awesome. I have a TigerShark on my 300wm build. Solid can and very quiet. Its always impressive to be on a firing line and someone think that your 300WM sounds like a 223! I have also noticed the recoil is tamed and my groups shrunk slightly since I attached the can.

Re: which Titaniumsuppressor for 223 varmint bolt gun?

hey just noticed you live in SD, got a idea for you. sdsilencer.com . I have a can waiting for approval from Brandon there, he's a real nice guy. Here's the deal, he sells his own Varminter can, it's his idea with Liberty Suppresors making it. He has other brands too. Give the guy a email or call, he's real fast at getting back to people.

spec sheet Varminter

Re: which Titaniumsuppressor for 223 varmint bolt gun?

So Shark only makes .30 cal suppressors correct? Has anyone ever used one on a .22? Is it anywhere close to being as effective as a .22 supressor?

My idea is to get a supressor I can use on my .308, .223, and .22 LR. Anyone have experience with that? You just buy the end caps to fit the thread pattern on the .22's right?

Re: which Titaniumsuppressor for 223 varmint bolt gun?

A 30 cal can is (in most cases) just as effective as a dedicated 224 can due to the extra volume. The downside is size.

DON'T RUN IT ON A 22 LR. 22's are filthy!!! Buy a dedicated LR can.

So what's so radical about his can? Low price?

Don't shark supressors come completely apart for cleaning?

Sure do. 22LR exposed lead bullets are absolutely FILTHY. If you want to spend the $$ on a shark can and then do to it what 22's do then, feel free.

I dont know, just thought it was neat that he has his own design, plus he's a nice guy to deal with. And they are stocked and in state so you dont have to wait on a Form 3 transfer. And yeah he's cheapest I've found on the east side of the state.

I guess if I was gonna blast stuff all day long with my 10/22, I would buy a dedicated .22 supressor. I was just more interested in the performance of the .30 can on a 10/22 in a pinch (shtf, etc), because like I said, I would like to have a supressor I can use on several rifles.

Re: which Titaniumsuppressor for 223 varmint bolt gun?

..

spec sheet "Varminter" as above...

I read it, I'm not buying any of it. From proprietary titanium alloy, to wicking, to accuracy enhanced due to no welding, my opinion.....horse crap. Appears to me to be another screw together monocore, SS and titanium can.

Note to Self : Basic skills required, a circle has a larger surface area than than a square occupying the same internal perimeter. Thank you, Dr. Jones.

http://www.algebra.com/algebra/homework/Surface-area/area-of-circle-and-square.lesson

There is nothing better than 360 deep weld contact to tranfer heat to the envelope...nothing. Certainly NOT monocore.
There is no better use of the limited internal envelope volume than 360 deep weld....nothing. Certainly NOT monocore.
The idea that proper welding, baffel to envelope, 360 welding (not tacking) creates accuracy reducing "stress" is also horse crap.

There are plenty of excellent titanium suppressors out there.

Start with AWC, SHARK and THUNDERBEAST. Hear those three, see their accuracy, and then start fooling around with bad science.

I use a 100% titanium, 360 welded, deep weld penetration (not surface), no threading, no adhesives.

"Square to increase surface area".....Duuuuuooohhhhh!
"Best selling suppressor on the market for varmint and bench rest shooters alike" - Personally? I'm thinking horse crap on that one too.

Re: which Titaniumsuppressor for 223 varmint bolt gun?

RT51 makes a number of good points. As I said in another thread, I've done a lot of playing with Form 1 designs that my dad has. We've tried a lot of the common "must do" things and had mixed results with them. Suppressors are not black magic, they don't require special marketing terms like "Quadratium" or to be made from unobtainium...

Reading the marketing release on the Varminter poses a lot of questions and the BS flag is waving wildly in my mind.

Re: which Titaniumsuppressor for 223 varmint bolt gun?

Ha he changed since I read it last. And yeah the claims are lofty, but they are made by Liberty Suppresors and from the hours of searching and reading, everthing that I can find indicates that David does a great job and the performance is there to boot.

For the record I dont have nor plan on buying a varminter, just thought being that the OP lives in state and he wanted a Ti can, thought this might be a good suggestion for the OP.

Re: which Titaniumsuppressor for 223 varmint bolt gun?

I've used my Shark on an AR15 in .223 and 6mmAR. Works great.
If your going to use it on a .22LR I would definitely buy one I could disassemble. I built a suppressor on an F1 for my .22LR machinegun. Talk about dirty!

Hope this helps,
