Because I spent my life in the military and on federal contracts, I never really shot at home since I enlisted. I just had a hard time paying to do what I was paid TO do at work. I've recently outrun the burnout I had and have rediscovered my own drive to get out and shoot.

With that, I'm building my arsenal and lining up some competitions to compete in, one of which is a dedicated sniper competition. I already have my optics chosen: U.S. Optics, all the way. What I can't seem to readily locate, however, is a SPOTTING SCOPE TRIPOD that would be handy for tactical situations, which in my opinion, include the following features:

1) NOT chrome.
2) Allow adjustment down to very low position for shooting prone.
3) Allow quick adjustment and STAY in place once released.
4) Not be enormous and heavy.
5) Allow solid connection to most spotting scopes

Anybody here have a suggestion?
Thanks for any scoop.

PRS is owned/operated by Danel Jenkins (Hide Member name: Platypus). He is a member in good standing here and makes some incredible multi-use tripods for shooting supports, spotting, LRF use, etc. I think that the medium size unit offers the greatest degree of flexibility in terms of being able to get it grounded for shooting/spotting from the prone position up to around 46" or so high (with a spotter attached). I have used mine with a Pentax 80mm spotter and rifles up to heavy-weight rifles. They are great pieces of kit and won't break the bank. If you get it setup with a quick-detach plate system, you can install a plate on a cradle, one on your spotter and others on any other devices you want to mount up and it takes only a few seconds to solidly mount/dismount any accessory from the tripod.

Aside from my PRS tripods, I have a couple different Bogen/Manfrotto tripods, but primarily use a 055XPROB unit as a dedicated spotting scope tripod from a fixed position. I have used it as a shooting tripod in the past (along with one of Danel's cradles) and it works very well, but it ain't exactly lightweight or portable.

That looks exactly like what I'm after! Thanks so much for the straight scoop! I'll reach out to them and find my ultimate setup.
