I'm in the market for a 5.56 suppressor. I haven't stayed on top of the suppressor world so I'm hoping for some input. It will be going on a 12.5" BCM Kino upper (carbine length gas system). I'm getting set up to be able to run the gun with night vision (have a PVS-14, ordered a DBAL-I2 yesterday) so flash suppression is a priority. I'd like a QD can with as minimal POI shift as possible and length/weight are important also. The sound reduction is lower on my list of priorities although I don't want to spend good money on a suppressor which does little in the way of suppression.
I've spoken with Surefire and the SOCOM 556-RC was the recommendation for my purposes. They are backordered currently and pricey so I've got a bit of time to research potential alternatives. Thought I'd throw the question out for opinions and hopefully learn something in the process.
Recommendations?
