Suppressors White House petition to prevent the ban of suppressors

Funny, would have thought the fight to keep suppressors would have more signatures, especially compared to repeal nfa which is basically pissing up a rope.

Alot of us are tired of the legislative bullshit and signing up for lists that are probably pointless. If there are drastic changes to our rights and freedoms it's time to sling lead, not "voice our concerns and write our congressman".

A whole 15,000 people took the 30 seconds to sign the petition, even though we have more than a million suppressor owners in this country.

At least the petition to repeal NFA has over 300,000 signatures. Still open: https://petitions.whitehouse.gov/petition/repeal-nfa
Liberty loving Americans have been asleep at the wheel for decades. Comfort and complacency, like frogs in a pot of water slowly heating on the stovetop. The enemy knows exactly what they are doing.

I say write and call your congressman until you get a response. It takes some doing, but, the squeaky wheel gets the grease.

It really doesn't matter if I get the attention of my congressman's aide and a "Thank you for voicing your concerns. Congressman XXX appreciates your input".

Don't waste your time or dignity thinking that writing letters and pleading with these people with a list of names is going to produce results.

While I agree that govt is the problem, and pleading isn’t the solution . Voicing your distain for bad legislation is how our govt was built. It might not do much other than give you more right to bitch about how things are going one way or another. If you sit on the internet and cry about how your reps are doing what you want but you aren’t making your voice heard, then that just makes you a whiner. Liberal commie cock gobblers are whiners. Don’t be a liberal commie cock gobbler.

I get it, just find it ironic that one list is hit hard, the other, that has at least a chance of making someone take notice , is largely ignored

These petitions are pointless. Look at the last time a whitehouse.gov petition even garnered a response. Those of us who actually care contacted our representatives and the American Suppressor Association (and other organizations like it - you don't have to agree with everything they believe in, as I don't - just the mission. There's no perfect solution, but even if I don't agree on every little detail, they are the best chance we have now at having a voice on the larger stage). Stop getting irritated that people are spending their time and effort on things that actually have a chance of making a difference, however small, instead of clicking buttons on a website that nobody reads.

It's not wasting time or dignity, these are elected members of our government and they do respond and react to the public. Most of them aren't very tech-inclined, and struggle with even basic internet-related functions. Let's not waste time discussing how insane that is in 2019, but it's truth. A letter/phone call do get brought up to them, even if they don't personally answer ever call or respond to every letter. If it's in their mind that their voting base wants something, they will fight for that. At the end of the day, you just have to understand what motivates people, and use that angle to get your desired outcome. These people want to keep their positions, so you use their pandering to keep their position to get what you want.

Yes, I'm not naive, and I realize politics isn't perfectly cut and dry. There's a lot of corruption, and lobbying, and payoffs, and other backroom deals. That said, you get enough people calling a representative's office, and they'll flip-flop quickly. The problem is, for all of the eager folks to click buttons on a website, there's a very small number who will take the time to write a letter or make a call. Mashing a button on a website is easy to do, and easy to ignore. When a representative's phone is ringing off the hook with people calling about something, things start to happen.

I was active in politics a lot at one time. Everything that you said was 100% spot on.

Here's another thing to consider if your representative is rapidly anti-gun. If enough people complain to him or her about their anti-gun stance they may soften a bit.

They probably won't do a 180 degree turn and support our interests. On the other hand, if enough people complain to them, they my not come out as sponsors on certain legislation. Or, even though they my vote against some pro-gun legislation they might simply vote "present" on some anti-gun legislation. I other words if the constituents can move an anti-gun representative toward the center that is better than nothing.

thats because either they are a bunch of “pussies” that are afraid of being on a “”government list” or they are too lazy or too ignorant. People are so fking pathetic. I do everything I can; I call my congressman, write my senator, write the Whitehouse,” screaming don’t ban suppressors” yet a bunch of lazy WANKERS can’t even be bothered to lift a finger. How stinking LAME ????

Honestly I wouldn't be too surprised if more than 15k people signed the petition but was programmed to accept just a small amount of signatures. I'm not saying that's what I believe has happened but I wouldn't be surprised if it had.

My hero, what valor and bravery in penmanship and whining.

I have a nephew who would ask me on thanksgiving one year if he could slap me in the face. I said no, and he asked again on Christmas, I again told him no.

His birthday rolls around in February, and same question is asked, “can I slap you in the face?”. I don’t reply, and he asks a few more time without replies. Finally he thinks about whether he should really do it or not, even though I didn’t say he couldn’t.

Well he slapped me and I gave a memorable pounding in return, haven’t been slapped or asked to be slapped since.

What you just described is voting out representatives that don’t do what they’re supposed to be doing ?

yep there are a lot of chicken shit worms that are afraid of being on government lists so instead of standing up for their rights they yawn, they hide and they fill themselves with derision. They laugh and chortle at others that take the arrows. They are the real worms...
