Who are the top smiths for bedding a CZ 452?

You might want to try John Langley. He has built some of the top championship rimfire sporter rifles to compete in benchrest. These must meet a max weight of 8.5 lbs, use a wood stock and be a repeater action. I am pretty sure that CZ's are one of his fav's for this. He is mostly a centerfire precision rifle smith but I know he does rimfires on occasion. He is located in Ironton, OH. If you search the benchrest or rimfire central forums you can usually find his contact info. If not, PM me and I can look up his phone number. He is old school and has strong opinions and may want to know your qualifications before building anything for you. He is pretty careful who he makes rifles for because one idiot who lacks the skill to shoot can give a good rifle and its gunsmith a bad name.

I once saw a guy attempting to shoot a 45 in a PPC match complaining about the lack of accuracy from his custom accurized 1911. He was having a hard time hitting a pie plate sized tgt at 25 yds and it looked bad. The smith who built that gun was there and is a Master class IPSC competitor, a former spec ops sniper and retired state police sniper. He walked over and examined the pistol and proceeded to put 2 mags full into the 10 ring a the same distance. He calmly cleared the weapon, handed it to the owner, smiled and said, "Now, we're not going to have this conversation again are we? There is nothing wrong with your weapon." Had he not been there however, his workmanship could have been called to question and there would have been nobody to uphold his honor. Skill counts for a lot. That same smith was building accurized 10/22's about 20yrs ago using a bull barrel Walther tube and his handiwork. He was standing shooting off-hand at our range with a scoped example and was putting all of his rounds into a dime sized group at 50y. He handed it to me and asked me to try it out. Standing off-hand, I was lucky to hit the tgt, let alone the bullseye, lol. He took it back thinking something was wrong and proceeds to put 10 more into the 10 ring. Duh. I think I found the problem.

John likes to make sure you know how to optimize the use of his equipment. If John is not available, the other smith I referred to could likely get your job done too. But, be warned he is more into building serious tools. PM for contact info. and name.
