Who has cut down their TRG barrel?

Why did you do it, and what length did you go to?

I am tempted to get my barrel cut for ease of handling as a beanfield rifle. This is despite me not using it during a hunting season yet. I hate when i get a bug up my ass to do something. I need someone to tell me to jump, or get the phuck off the ledge. It is a 300WM, and I am thinking of going to a 20-22 ish tube.

i am rebarreling my 700 in .308, and have just about decided on having the schneider barrel i have, cut to 22 inches, and threading it for the badger fte muzzle brake i just got. i will probably make a thread protector for it on my lathe for when i dont want the muzzle brake, and am not using a suppressor. am thinking 22 inches should make it nice and handy..

I bought mine with the shorter barrel, however in the future I plan on replacing the barrel. I wonder what is the largest contour barrel that can fit in the trg barrel channel?

I bought mine (TRG-22) with the full intention of cutting it to 21"-22", but it shoots so scary good I'm afraid to mess with it.

Do you have a folding stock, or is there a short barrel option?

The TRG-22 comes with either a 20" or 26" barrel in a fixed stock. I'm not sure about the 42. I've seen shots of a 20" TRG-42 folder in 338, but I don't know if it was a factory gun or not.

I have both the TRG 22 and 42. I had both cut down. I did so because I wanted to have them rethreaded for suppressors. I had the 22 cut to 20" and the 42 to 24". If you plan on shooting 220gr I wouldn't go below 24". If your only going to shoot 190gr go with 22".
