Re: who has one?

I have one, the predecessor of G&E. I have a Leinhard in 7.62 single shot K31 action with Scheutzen style stock made in 50s new and unfired. Also has Redfield Sights. It was built for a US ordnance type stationed in Switzerland in 50s. He had two built, other is in 30.06.

I expect this one was about 5K US?

Re: who has one?

Grunigs (as they are known) are very popular in Europe for 300 meter shooting and I know a guy in England with five of them. Many years ago they were like 3500.00. I suspect 5K now for sure. My buddy brought one over here to test with him in late 90s and it was shooting about 3/4" at 300 yards in 6MM BR. Basically if you don't have one over there you are already behind the power curve.

I can't shoot the one I have as it has a stock similar to this one and is of course right handed and I shoot leftie. Mine is built on a single shot K31 action with the name Leinhard on it. Grunig & Elmiger took over the company. Leinhard was not only a top flight gunsmith but one of these best 300 meter shooters back in 50s.

Re: who has one?

I have one for sale right now on Gunbroker.

Grunig & Elmiger Model 200, 300 meter free rifle with sights .308. Comes complete with sights, hook buttplate and handstop. I bore scoped the barrel and it looks very close to new. Barreled action excellent, stock is in good condition. This rifle belonged to a shooting buddy of mine that has passed on and I am selling his firearms collection for his widow. He bought this rifle used from Neal Johnsons Gunsmithing, Inc. back in 1996 and had never shot it.
