Thanks again for all the SF dealer info, This thread is about me getting the can I want(no sway of my opinion).

What the crap is the issue with people and cans(I don't get it) I see a nice rifle that I don't have and usually end up talking with the owner about it, but with cans its my dick is bigger than your dick. WTF

The rubric of sound suppression is filled with claims and counter claims by both companies who produce the product and those that support those individual companies. I would compare some of that to the squabbles between Yankees/Redsox fans...
Good luck with your SF can... waiting for these things is the hardest part...

Umm, dude, that's totally wrong. I'm a SureFire dealer, just not a big stocking dealer which is why I didn't offer myself up on this thread. I started as a flashlight dealer, the buy in was about $1500 ish. Which is not a whole lot when you buy a couple lights. As soon as they started making cans I set up as a dealer for the suppressors as well. I've ordered and received .223, .308 and .338 cans. No problems ordering any of them. There was no stipulation on only carrying one model or caliber of can.

I really don't think the ear can pick up a noticeable 2.1 DB and in most of the comparisons Im seeing that is about the median. Maybe a little more here and there but not enough to get me bent out of shape. As far as the war on AAC vs. Surefire..... I have a lot of AAC gear but would not be opposed to trying out a Surefire can. If the damn thing holds up to what they claim then I should be able to run it for a LONG time.

I would think that the deciding factors in buying one over the other would be:

1. Functionality for your situation (as in casual weekend shooter, military, SWAT and so on)
2. Point of impact shift
3. Price
4. how much sound is it masking? DB drop...
5. Durability! how long will it last and hows the warranty?

you can vary that order as much as you like but thats what I do when Im comparing new cans to buy. I usually buy 2 or 3 at a time to make that wait time more tolerable.

AMEN! I was thinking the same thing after reviewing the posted comparison... 2-3 db is virtual inaudible.
I'll be getting the SF for dual purpose. I feel the brake with the can off is a superior design. Like its been stated before, this is the choice of our country's top builders (not to mention the people who rely on it the most, USMC Snipers)...

Wow, another AAC troll. Three posts since 11/07 only promoting AAC. Hardly a constructive contribution. The original poster's question has been answered, so let's move on. They are all good cans, hardly worth this petty discussion.

Same here. My Surgeon rifle came with a SF muzzel brake for a SF QD suppressor. That's what Surgeon recommended. So I now have a SF suppressor. Yes they are pricey, but their product is among the best. I am happy and that's all that counts.

That's funny becasue I was told the opposite - not to use a Surefire Brake/Can combo....this was for my .338 Lapua XL build. Maybe it is different for their short action rifles? I had it threaded and use a Badger FTE and will be using a thread on can whenever I get around to purchasing one.
